Our flights to Winnipeg mean that central Canada is closer than you’d think. Otherwise known as the Gateway to the West, the biggest city in Manitoba is a fabulous destination in its own right.

This great Canadian capital is home to a vibrant foodie scene, with global gastronomy from Argentinean and Danish to Ethiopian and Vietnamese. Take a stroll down Corydon Avenue on a warm summer’s evening, and you’ll find the place bustling with people dining al fresco on some of Canada's tastiest cusine. This city loves its ice cream too, so make sure you try a scoop or three.

Local charm

Winnipeg isn't flashy like Calgary or hip like Vancouver. The charm of this place lies in its gentle way of life and respect for local heritage. An economic boom in the early 20th century left the city with plenty of period architectural treasures, most of which are now protected in the National Historic Site of the city’s downtown Exchange District.

Stunning history

Winnipeg's Forks National Historic Site pays homage to the First Nations people who lived in the area for thousands of years. Right at the heart of Canada's Prairie Provinces, Winnipeg also hosts the Living Prairie Museum, which protects 30 acres of rare unploughed prairie grass.
