Extravagant pampering: The most luxurious spa treatments in Dubai

Hop on a flight to Dubai and you’ll realise within seconds of landing there are really no limits on luxury in this city. Hardly a surprise considering Dubai’s reputation as an economic hub, and it’s particularly true in the rest and relaxation department – as the opulent spa treatments in Dubai demonstrate.

Romantic Moonlight Swim

If just relaxing in a seven-star hotel isn’t romantic enough, those who still have a little cash in their wallet can splurge on the Talise Spa’s Romantic Moonlight Swim on the 18th floor of the Burj Al Arab. For Dhs7,000 (£1,450), you and your partner are treated to an hour-long massage and an equally lengthy private swim in a luxuriously decorated pool, including rose petals and candles; then covered up and warmed with monogramed bathrobes and glasses of champagne. Expensive? Perhaps. But you should see the price of the room.

Placenta Diamond Facial

For Dhs2,500 (£520) at the Biolite Aesthetic Clinic you can also have your face covered with a placenta mask. Sure, having your face lined with the placenta of a barnyard animal is right up there up with bird excrement, but this mask is said to replace old cells with new and can help with rosacea, acne and sun damage as well as just provide a more youthful and radiant complexion.

Talise Ottoman Spa

Romance 1001 Roses

This Dhs1,749 (£370) couples’ treatment at Talise Ottoman Spa is the ultimate romance package. Start off with a Jacuzzi infused with milk – a rather odd, but time-tested treatment for reinvigorating skin. As you lie back, sipping on bubbly and feasting on fresh strawberries, the jet streams knead away tensions while the milk works its ancient magic, leaving the skin silky smooth. After that follows the icing on the cake: a private sauna experience followed by an hour-long aromatherapy massage with essential oils.

The Saray Golden Hammam

A hammam is the traditional Arabian indulgence. Taking the experience to another level is Golden Hamman at Saray Spa, a 120-minute pampering package that combines precious healing gold with traditional hammam rituals. The AED1,200 (£250) treatment begins with steaming and exfoliation, followed by body wrap of gold clay and myrtle, a golden Arabian honey facial mask and a full-body massage using precious oil infused with 24 karat gold – guaranteed to leave you with a radiant glow.
