Welcome to bluebiz
Together with our partners Air France-KLM and Delta, we’re improving our corporate loyalty offering and joining bluebiz. Bluebiz is so easy to join, and it’s now even easier to earn and spend rewards on Virgin Atlantic flights. Every business flight taken on a bluebiz member airline will earn blue credits. One blue credit is worth £1, and blue credits can be used to cover the cost of any flight, on any of the partner airlines.
We'll be saying farewell to Flying Co on 1 July 2019. You can still earn Flying Co miles on flights booked before this date and spend on rewards until 31 December 2020. Find out more on what this change means for Flying Co members and how to redeem your miles.
Twice as nice to Johannesburg
Fabulous news for business travellers to Johannesburg – we’re now flying twice a day from London Heathrow. We’re also the first to land daily in Johannesburg, meaning immigration will be a breeze, perfect for those heading onto meetings, catching connections or preparing for a busy working day.
We’re expanding our Virgin Australia codeshare domestic routes
Book and fly Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow to Hong Kong or Los Angeles, then connect onto a Virgin Australia flight straight to Melbourne or Sydney, all in one booking, with a single check in and bag drop. And as part of the codeshare deal, there are connections from LA to Brisbane too, plus domestic onward connections to Adelaide, Cairns, Gold Coast, Hobart and Canberra.
Plus from 6 October 2018, we’re delighted to announce that customers can now purchase extended Virgin Australia domestic routes to the following destinations from within Australia: Perth, Darwin, Launceston, Ayres Rock, and Newcastle.
US network boost from Heathrow
In partnership with Delta, we’re boosting our flight coverage to the US with two new flights: one to Portland and one to Detroit, both direct from the UK in Summer 2019. Our Portland route is the only non-stop flight from the UK and is due to fly daily, up from four times a week.
The second daily Detroit flight offers even more opportunity to travel throughout the US, providing brilliant onward connections to more than 90 destinations, including Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Orlando.
Delta will operate both services using their Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft, boasting 35 fully-flat bed seats in Delta One, 32 seats in Delta Comfort+ and 143 seats in the main cabin.
Big-up Biometrics – the future of airport security
Delta Air Lines® is paving the way in faster airport navigation by launching the first ever Biometric Terminal in the US, located at Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal (Terminal F) in Atlanta.
From later this year, travellers flying from Atlanta to international destinations will have the option of using facial recognition technology from curb to gate to: check in at self-service kiosks; drop checked baggage; pass through TSA checkpoint and board a flight. And Virgin Atlantic travellers can take advantage of this streamlined service too, thanks to our fabulous partnership with Delta.
This technology has been developed in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Transportation Security Administration and is set to provide customers with a seamless, end-to-end airport experience.
Fuel for thought
Virgin Atlantic is shaking things up once again! We’ve just completed the first ever commercial flight using fuel partly made from recycled industrial waste.
This sustainable aviation fuel – courtesy of LanzaTech – who convert carbon waste into fuel and chemical products – is part of our ongoing commitment to reduce carbon emissions and step up to environmental challenges. We’ve already taken steps to reduce CO² emissions, including investment in our amazing A350-1000 aircraft.
The fuel was used on a landmark flight from Orlando to Gatwick, demonstrating the very real possibility of harnessing ground-breaking, low-carbon technology in mainstream aviation.
High tea anyone?
Get your pinky fingers ready - Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with master pâtissier Eric Lanlard to create a bespoke series of delicious afternoon teas.
Our Heathrow Clubhouse is now serving Eric’s award-winning creations daily between 3pm and 5pm. Will you choose a classic pot of tea with scone, jam and cream? Or select a chilled Lanson rose champagne with a smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill mint mini croissant?
Virgin Atlantic travellers can also indulge in the afternoon treat onboard by late Summer, when it’s available across Upper Class, Premium and Economy flights. The 38,000ft high tea will feature handmade sandwiches, scones and an assortment of macarons.

New routes from London Heathrow
We’re thrilled to announce our new route from London Heathrow to Las Vegas on board the Boeing 747, launching 31 March 2019. Flights have been timed with easy onward connections in mind, departing Heathrow at 12.40 and Las Vegas at 19.05.
We’ve added a second daily service to Boston too, leaving Heathrow at 20.30 and Boston at 08.30, again, great timing for onward travel.
Our final exciting update is the re-introduction of the seasonal direct flights to Barbados. Operating from 11 December 2018 to 19 February 2019.

Fly more from Manchester
Virgin Atlantic is introducing even more US flights from our Manchester hub. From 22 May 2019 we’re offering a new direct route to Los Angeles, operating three times a week. We’re also increasing our Boston service to three times a week as of 22 May 2019 and doubling our flights to Las Vegas from 31 March 2019.
In fact, 2019 will be our biggest year ever flying from Manchester, with up to six US departures daily. This means even more travellers from the North West can enjoy one-stop connections to over 200 US destinations, courtesy of our partnership with Delta Air Lines®.

With your Flying Co account, not only will your business be rewarded, but the travellers themselves will be too. To ensure your company is earning those miles, the travellers’ personal Flying Club number must be linked to each booking made. To link your employees to your Flying Co account, we’ll just need their full name and their Flying Club membership number.

Three new ways to fly
All our new Economy services include delicious food, entertainment and intuitive service. Your travellers can enjoy a three course meal, drinks and tempting snacks throughout. There’s over 300 hours of fantastic inflight entertainment, while inseat power keeps devices charged and WiFi* is perfect for staying on top of business.
Economy Light - Hand luggage only and seat allocation**.
Economy Classic – Take a 23kg bag and choose their seat for free.
Economy Delight – Customers benefit from Premium Check In and priority boarding, a 23kg checked bag, choosing their extra legroom seat for free and priority overhead storage.
The additional daily flight will depart London Heathrow at 4.45pm and land into Johannesburg at 5.40am local time. The service will be the first Heathrow flight to land each morning, making it perfect for business travellers or those with onward connections to the rest of Africa. The return flight will leave Johannesburg at 10.20pm, landing back into Heathrow at 7.30am – so travellers can easily connect onto flights with both Virgin Atlantic and Delta to over 200 US destinations.
Delta leads the way with bag tracking
Our partners at Delta have rolled out a new industry-leading service. This new innovation allows your travellers to keep track of their checked bags on its flights between London Heathrow and the United States via their mobile phones.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) bag tags are added to all checked luggage which are read by RFID antennas at various points along the journey. Your travellers will receive real-time updates via the Fly Delta app on their luggage, from check in to the arrival carousel.
In addition to live updates, customers can also access a map view of their bag’s journey when travelling in the United States through the app.
We’re reaching new heights in Manchester
Things have just reached new heights. We have nearly 40,000 more seats available to book this year on flights from Manchester to top global destinations. We now fly to seven US and Caribbean destinations direct from Manchester, including our newest routes; San Francisco, Boston and New York.
And there are easy one stop connections to over 200 destinations including Los Angeles, Miami, Tampa and Cancun with our joint venture partner Delta via Atlanta and New York JFK.
Getting a good nights sleep
Most people struggle to get just forty winks when flying, which means they can be less alert and productive during their business trip due to jet lag. So, Virgin Atlantic has been working with experts at The Sleep Council to combine airline industry tips and professional advice to help travellers drift off to sleep at 38,000ft.
Expanded joint venture with Air France-KLM
Virgin Atlantic in partnership with Delta is already the number one rated transatlantic joint venture for customer satisfaction, but we have announced a planned extension to our network with a four way joint venture with Air France-KLM in 12 months time.
The long term joint venture means your travellers will have an even bigger opportunity to travel from the UK and Europe to more of the US and the rest of the world for business and at competitive prices. And what’s even better, is that they’ll benefit from convenient flight schedules and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, including earning and burning miles across all four airlines. Some of the benefits would also include co-location at key international airports for easier, seamless connections and access to luxurious airport lounges.
Experience a 'first ever'
With WiFi now across our entire fleet, your travellers can effortlessly work on a big presentation, catch up on emails or make calls mid air. We’re the first ever European airline to do this and with Delta, we’re the only transatlantic airline partnership to offer a fully connected WiFi service.
Clubhouse Invited for only 10,000 Flying Co mile
Let your travellers unwind from the day or continue working in the quiet and comfort of our Clubhouses. Exclusively available to Flying Co members, your travellers will be all set for a good trip with an invite to our Clubhouses. You'll just need 10,000 miles per invite, and they are now available at all our Clubhouses including Johannesburg, San Francisco and Boston.
Your online statement - is here
We are pleased to let you know that you can now view your account statement online. You can view how many Flying Co miles your travellers have earned and view your most recent transactions in your company's Flying Co account, filter by date or description, and sort on any column. This helpful tool will allow you to make sure that no opportunity to be rewarded is missed as you review miles that have been earned and spent with us or one of our many Flying Co partners.
Logging in for the first time - setting up a password
When logging in for the first time you will need to set up a new password.
To do this, click the 'New User or Forgotten Details?' on the login screen and follow the instructions. You will be asked to enter your email address, this needs to be the one that is linked to your Flying Co account. You will then be sent a temporary password via email which will last for 2 hours.
You can use your temporary password to login and change your password to something more memorable during this time. You can then login as usual using your Flying Co number and new password.

Introducing the upgrade waitlist: it makes getting your travellers’ reward seats easier.
Have you ever wanted to use Flying Co miles for an upgrade but our Premium or Upper Class cabin was full? Our new waitlist service is a brilliant tool to help grab you a seat if one becomes available.
Add your travellers to a waitlist when there are no seats available to upgrade using miles. If a seat becomes available our system automatically assigns it to the first person on the list.
