I just got back from an unforgettable experience at Dreams Resort for our wedding, and I have so many thoughts! If you’re here because you’re planning a wedding—stop searching and BOOK IT NOW. I just got back from an unforgettable experience at Dreams Resort for our wedding, and I have so many thoughts! If you’re here because you’re planning a wedding—stop searching and BOOK IT NOW. If you’re here for a general resort experience, I'll be posting that separately. Wedding – 10/10, A++++, 1000000%, Absolute Perfection! Where do I even begin? Our wedding was absolutely amazing, and I owe it all to the incredible Lulu (Lourdes Bustamante) and her team. If anyone from Hyatt is reading this—give her a raise because she made magic happen. We went with the Beyond Memorable package, which included both a private welcome dinner and our reception on Vista del Mar. Throughout the entire planning process, Lulu was a dream to work with—organized, responsive, firm when needed, and generous where she could be. She kept me on track with detailed questionnaires, catalogs, vendor lists, budgets, and timelines. Even though I asked a million questions (literally), she was always patient and proactive, often sending me visual examples to ensure we were aligned. Our planning window was only four months, but she made it feel like we had been preparing for longer than that. I was a little worried being that it'd be the first wedding of the year, and staff/people may have been coming back from vacation and still recovering but everything came together beautifully. If there were any problems, I didn't even know about it and neither did our guests. During the events, Lulu was everywhere, making sure things went off without a hitch. I had to make some budget cuts, but she surprised me with little extra touches—bigger flowers, nicer plates, etc. I could not be more grateful. The service during the wedding was top-notch. The same staff worked both nights (welcome dinner & reception), and they constantly checked on us, our parents, and our guests. They made sure we always had food, drinks, and comfort—which, as the wedding couple, is something you usually don’t get to enjoy! Special shoutouts to: Waiters: Dania, Gabriel, Daniel Capitan: Agustín If you’re considering a destination wedding at Dreams—DO IT. I have zero regrets. Actually the only regret was that im not made of money, otherwise i would have taken advantage of even more events across the various locations they have on the resort. Read less

Overall a good resort not too big not too small. Clean with good food and good vibe in the main lobby area with lots of activities and music. Fabio UVC was excellent and Alberto was outstanding with his service in the buffet with good food and drinks.

We visited the resort the week of Jan 7th. We came here 15 years ago and always wanted to return. We had an oceanfront room in building 500. It was beautiful! The room was clean, shower pressure was great, bed and pillows super comfortable. The hot tub with jets was a nice bonus at the end of a long beach day! We reserved the preferred club and were given 2 thirty minute massages as part of the package! The spa was superb! It’s a beautiful spa and the massage was amazing. Preferred club amenities include a private indoor area with a bar and snacks and a quieter adult pool. The breakfast and snacks in preferred club were fine. The drinks seemed to be a little better tasting than they were at the pool or main lobby bar. The bartenders in preferred club were attentive and made good drinks. The liquor is definitely not all the “real” stuff. My husband and I worked as bartenders for years so we know the taste of top shelf liquors and liqueurs, and most of what we tasted, was not authentic. We noticed that bottles were never sealed although they were filled to the top. That’s a little suspicious. My recommendation for food would be to eat later in the evening. The tacos in the lobby area are amazing. Eat those for a snack then go to dinner after 7:30-8 and you won’t have that long wait. We never waited more than 40 minutes….which is a normal wait time for a restaurant at home. The restaurant food was ok. Nothing great. The atmosphere and service made up for the lack of greatness in the food. Sebastian in the French restaurant was so nice and professional. He made our visit to that restaurant very memorable. All of the staff is so attentive and friendly. Everyone seems to be authentically happy to work here and want to please. We ate at the hibachi restaurant and one of the waiters there was explaining that they are understaffed because the younger generation just doesn’t want to work that hard and they had a hard time getting good help. This could explain the long wait at the restaurants what people seem to complaining about in these reviews. If you don’t want to wait for a table, the buffet is a good choice. We found the fresh grilled seafood to be very good there. They will grill it all fresh for you at the buffet and you can make a very fresh seafood (salmon, huge shrimp, mussels, mahi-mahi) meal there. We ate some of our best meals at the beach front Bluewater Grill. Preferred club is able to eat breakfast there and all items on the breakfast menu were very good! Try the authentic Mexican breakfast items. There did seem to be inconsistencies in the food, depending on who was cooking. Some days were better than others. We chose to eat lunch at Bluewater Grill as well. It’s conveniently located next to the pool. The outside seating at the grill is beach front and just beautiful! We were hooked on the buffalo wings. They may have been the best we ever ate, anywhere! The chicken Caesar salad was very good and so was the chicken sandwich. Surprisingly there are no french fries on the menu…anywhere but the poolside grill served fries, burgers, hot dogs, and so much more! They also made fresh nachos with amazing guacamole all day long! The only complaint I have about this resort is that there are not enough beach chairs and the stress of finding pool chairs shouldn’t be part of your vacation. Who wants to get up and get to the pool by 8 am to secure a chair? We had a great week with our college age kids at dreams sapphire! We swam in the pool, in the ocean, ate way too much food, drank plenty of drinks, rested, relaxed, learned Latin dances by the pool, Zumba in the pool, dancing in the lobby, attended super entertaining shows at night (rock show was so much fun!) and even witnessed a wedding on the beach. This is a fun resort with good food and drinks (not great) and a wonderful staff that wants to make your stay a good one! Try to be there on Saturday so you don’t miss the Mexican night and take the bike ride excursion to Puerto Morelos. It’s a 20 minute ride led by resort employee and totally worth the trip. Very cute little town. Thanks to the entertainment staff (Richie, Tony and Joe). These 3 gentlemen went out of their way to get us up and moving and were very attentive without being pushy. We felt like we made new friends! In sum, the resort is a little dated and a little older but it’s kept up with and clean. It’s not 5 stars but the price isn’t either so to those complaining , I would say that you may need to upgrade to the Ritz Carlton because this resort was worth the price we paid. Read less

I got married at Dreams Sapphire Resort a month ago, and it was everything I could’ve hoped for—and more! The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and our ceremony on the skyroof in the new Indigo Preferred Building was breathtaking. Our guests couldn’t stop marveling at how beautiful the setting was. Plus, everyone is still raving about the food we had at our reception—it was catered in-house and exceeded all expectations. But the true star of our wedding was Grace, our amazing coordinator. She was on top of every detail from start to finish and is clearly very experienced with South Asian weddings—everything went off without a hitch. I had shared my vision board with her early on, and she turned each and every one of my ideas into reality. Grace was incredibly communicative, yet she also ensured my husband and I had the space to savor our special moments while she took care of everything behind the scenes. In short, our wedding wouldn’t have been as magical without Grace. If you’re planning to get married at Dreams Sapphire, I highly recommend requesting her—especially if you’re hosting a South Asian wedding or have a South Asian DJ. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
