Five of the best Vegas wedding ideas

Fun, tacky, vintage or glamorous – whatever your view on the Vegas wedding, it certainly won’t be boring. We’ve rounded up a few of the best – and barmiest – ideas for your big day.

Elvis-themed nuptials

Want the King to perform at your wedding ceremony? A mindboggling number of options are available, but the Graceland Wedding Chapel is probably the best known. A Vegas stalwart since the 1950s, the chapel has appeared in several movies and offers wedding packages starting from $199 which includes Elvis escorting the bride down the aisle and two songs. Similarly, Elvis Chapel has packages based around specific songs – check out the Hound Dog and Burning Love options – while the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel’s Blue Hawaii ceremony includes ocean mist, palm trees and a dancing hula girl, with Elvis officiating over proceedings.

Drive-thru weddings

Live life in the fast lane and tie the knot without stepping out of your car. Yes, at the Little White Wedding Chapel’s 24-hour Tunnel of Love you can be legally married in five minutes flat. Drive-thru packages start from as little as $75 for a basic ceremony, or slap on all the extras like flowers, music and photos for a few dollars more. You can even opt for a stretch limo or bright pink Cadillac to whisk you through.

Landmark weddings

If a small Vegas chapel is not your style, many of the Strip’s best known landmarks double up as wedding venues. You can get hitched on the observation deck of the Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower or on one of the Venetian hotel’s romantic indoor gondolas as it drifts down the ‘Grand Canal’. For something slightly more outlandish, say ‘I do’ aboard Treasure Island’s Song Ship in Sirens’ Cove, including delivery of your rings by pirate. Or spit out your vows at a 67mph ceremony on the rollercoaster at New York New York.

Sky-high vows

If you both have a head for heights, consider a private helicopter wedding over the neon lights of the Las Vegas Strip. Maverick Helicopters offer a range of different options, all of which include limousine transportation from your hotel and the services of a minister. You can also venture further afield. Fly over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, before landing on a sandstone plateau in the Valley of Fire. Best of all, you can head to an exclusive spot 3,500 feet below the rim of the Grand Canyon for a ceremony with unrivalled photo opportunities.

Alternative locations

Sometimes it’s best to ask where you can’t get married in Vegas. An increasing number of tourist attractions offer wedding packages, so there’s really no excuse not to go for it. Lovers of all things retro can plan a marriage ceremony among the vintage neon signs of the Neon Boneyard, while would-be gangsters can proclaim their love in the Mob Museum’s former federal courthouse. How about tying the knot at a glow-in-the-dark mini golf course? Yep, the 13,000 square-foot KISS by Monster Mini Golf venue offers various themed wedding packages. For the ultimate crazy, crazy night, get hitched on stage surrounded by Marshall amps with a Gene Simmons lookalike minister.
