It’s all about the beach in Varadero. Stretched out on a slender peninsula pointing towards the Bahamas, this 20km sweep of soft, pale sand is the stuff daydreams are made of. Make the sun lounger your home for the holiday, with a backdrop of swaying palm trees and a view of turquoise waters blending into the big blue sky.

Varadero is Cuba's – and the Caribbean's – biggest holiday resort, with a fantastic choice of all-inclusive hotels, shops and entertainment to cater to your every whim. Surrounded by the Caribbean Sea on both sides, watersports fans will be in heaven. You can get into the swing of things on the island's first 18 hole golf course. And if you want a taste of the real Cuba, there are some brilliant days out too.
