My wife and I visited the USA for 12 nights in September and stopped at 3 different hotels. The Garland was by far our favourite. Had a really nice feel to it. The staff were excellent, the rooms were clean, and the atmosphere was great. We particularly enjoyed coming back after a busy day, sitting by the pool, and watching the movies they put on. The staff were really personable as well. Complimentary shuttle service to Universal which is useful and runs every hour. Lots of other attractions close by also. If I was ever to visit Los Angeles again, I would insist on stopping at The Garland.

The Garland is a wonderful and convenient place to stay in LA. It’s close to Universal Studios, and it suited our needs east and west of its location. The decor vibe is retro 1970’s , the room was clean and comfortable with a balcony and the shower had plenty of hot water. The grounds and outdoor eating area are pretty and the pool area was top notch with a nice outdoor fireplace. It has a restaurant, bar and gift shop. The staff were helpful and friendly and check in and out was a breeze. So, yes, I’d stay there again if I ever make it back to LA.

On arrival there was confusion regarding our booking and though it took a good while to sort out the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was good with coffee facilities and little fridge. Small pool and had movie nights. Bit out of the way for tourist attractions though they had a shuttle bus taking you to Universal which was great.
