It felt like no one was truly looking after us, especially considering we had a suite. Whenever we needed assistance or had a question, we had to wait a long time for a response, and even then, it often felt like no one was fully attentive to our needs. On a more positive note, the concierge and pool team was amazing and worthy of a 5 star hotel. Read less

I travelled with a friend, using the hotel as home base for our trip to Antarctica. We booked the Presidential Suite for 1 week. I have never experienced such a poor, uncoordinated service in this bracket of hotel categories. E.g. concierge has incoherent infos, no cental point of contact (even for the presidential suite), it takes >3 days to get some sparking water delivered to your room, you only get infos randomly (e.g what is included in your package), different contact points have different information (e.g. transport all booked, vs. we have no info on your airport transfers). They want to kick you out of the room before official check out.... the list continues. Even after highlighting this, MGMT rhetorically more deflects this without apology, tried to buy you off with a free meal (I don't care or accepted). So this seems kind of the norm. Highly not recommended. On a positive note: The breakfast buffet is good / The pool and staff there is also good / The location is nice. Read less

We’re just finishing a four night stay at this incredible hotel. The staff, the huge rooms, the facilities are nothing short of outstanding. Candles in the bathroom in case you fancied a bath, snacks replenished in your room every day and Each evening a gift was left for you at bedtime, little notes left by the housekeeping staff, most of the staff even remember your name which is unbelievable considering the size of the hotel. For its size it’s surprising how exclusive it feels but it absolutely does. Wade deserves a special mention who is the gym manager. He took us on a hike up table mountain and his local knowledge of not just the immediate area was great. I would definitely recommend that rather than queueing for the cable car if you’re for enough. The staff around the pool couldn’t be more attentive, amazing breakfast, great gym and we ate in the Rooi restaurant on our last night, the best service and wagu rib eye ever. Don’t stay anywhere else in Cape Town it’s so close to the waterfront so you can wander around and uber is so easy from here if you want to nip to see the penguins at boulders bay or for a lovely lunch at camps bay. We had scones jam and cream at reasonable prices and although one of the days the scones were a little small, they were bigger next time we went. Salmon was really nice and so was the broccoli. Our waitress was divine. Natalia was smiling from the time we came to the time we left and NOTHING was too much for her to accommodate us. Especially with our coffees. Thank you for making this day so enjoyable Natalia and you should be rewarded for your efforts. We will return. Read less
