I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. My partner and I had been staying at various locations around Africa - in Nairobi, Victoria Falls, and a game reserve before coming to Cape Town. The rooms at this hotel are very small but that wasn't an issue as I expect that in a large city, however, there was no storage in our room, and I read another review on TripAdvisor indicating that this hotel is geared more towards business people, and I would agree with that. My partner and I were staying in Cape Town for 5 nights, and the room had a very small wardrobe with about 5 hangers in it and no drawers, other than our bedside tables which were barely big enough to fit our socks and underwear in. Upon arrival our bathroom had no soap in it, another evening our bathroom didn't have any hand towels in it, and twice our single bottle of water in the fridge was not replenished.
I did not find the stuff at all helpful. We could not get our air conditioning to work in our room and despite adjusting the thermostat, there was no change to the temperature and my husband and I could not sleep because it was so warm. We brought the issue to the front desk who sent maintenance up but the maintenance man said that we needed to turn the temperature up to 30° to then turn it down again to trigger the system, which we humoured him with, but of course it had the opposite effect. We opted to open the window all day and night, but then didn't sleep because of the traffic noise.
At breakfast on three mornings we were completely ignored by the staff and didn't get any tea or coffee offered. I found the music in the lobby and the restaurant just a touch too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. This hotel is not four or five stars. It is very below average and I would not recommend it to tourists coming to Cape Town.
