Set on a secluded old country estate near Knysna's famous lagoon, Knysna Hollow was once a country estate, and the conversion to a hotel has been a spectacular success. A perfect base for an exploring couple, or a family set on making magical memories along the Garden Route and surrounding areas, with Knysna well known for its rich green forests and endless lakes. By day, you can explore the lagoon with a ferry trip and peruse the little town of Knysna. Or for the nature lover Knysna is home to a myriad of flora and fauna including Knysna Elephant Park. End the day with an authentic meal at Social Eatery & Bar - the hotels social hub, before retreating to your elegantly decorated garden suite, where you can rest your head in a super king-size bed!

Service food which back home in the uk would of been about 4 times the cost and a quarter of the quality. The food is absolutely superb. Everyone of the team here has been friendly smiley and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough.

One of the highlights of our 12-day tour of South Africa was our 2-nights stay at this place. It truly lives up to is name of " country estate" as described by my favourite authors Agatha Christie and PG Wodehouse😊Airy, well- appointed and spacious rooms/suites that all look on to a lovely central garden and pool area, each suite also having its little sit-out space where one could just laze over a cup of tea and watch the resident cat preening itself on the walkway. The backdrop provided by the green hills behind just enhances the picturesque quality of the surroundings... Holidays are indeed made of this

Beautiful hotel set in fabulous gardens

This is an excellent hotel, beautifully set out in fantastic gardens. The rooms are very modern and comfortable and are positioned overlooking the gardens. The food is great. The swimming pool was clean and the sun beds comfortable. Can’t think of any improvements needed
A touch of class!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with air conditioning, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, a safe and TV (which we couldn't understand how to work, it's very technical). We had 3 nights at Knysna Hollow, a modern small up market hotel built on the site of a previous establishment destroyed by fire in 2017 (I think). The rooms are spacious and comfortable with air conditioning, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, a safe and TV (which we couldn't understand how to work, it's very technical). Having said that, who needs a TV in a place as good as this? The electric sockets are South African, not international - if you need an adaptor you can get one from reception for a small deposit.
There are 2 swimming g pools, 4 boules pitches and a padl Court.
Meals were all very good at dinner and breakfast and a good wine list with very reasonable prices. The staff, without exception, were cheerful and friendly.
You can hire a bicycle to cycle into Knysna, though it's along quite a busy road.
I can highly recommend this spot!
