“Dishonest management and staff”

Mistakenly left money and a book in the room on departure. Tried calling and numerous emails but absolutely no response whatsoever. Left a negative review on Hotels.com app and the next day IT WAS CHANGED to ' Great hotel'. What kind of Marriot behaviour is this? I assume the money was taken by the staff. What else could induce this dishonest behaviour? Keep your cash safe at Protea OR tambo. Or just stay somewhere else.

“Safe hotel near airport”

Protea Hotel O.R. Tambo Airport – Marriott A safe and convenient hotel, especially if you need to stay close to O.R. Tambo Airport. One of the big advantages is the free on-site parking, which is not something every nearby hotel offers. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food at the hotel was very good. The hotel has a unique airplane/aviation theme, which continues into the rooms and gives the place a lot of character. The hotel itself has a bit of a warehouse or aircraft-hangar feel, which may not appeal to everyone. The rooms are also a little on the small side. The bathroom floor can be slippery, so I would recommend extra care for older guests. It can be a little noisy, particularly on the first floor, although the hotel is very convenient for an airport stopover. Overall, I would recommend it for a one-night stay, especially before or after a flight. Friendly staff, good food, free parking and a fun aviation theme make it a practical choice.

A great hotel, very handy for the airport. Rooms clean and comfortable, restaurant good and helpful staff. We were able to arrange a late checkout due to an evening flight at a small extra charge. Excellent shuttle service to and from the airport. Would definitely stay here again if in need of an airport hotel.
