However, it is the wonderful staff that make the experience truly special. You really feel the passion to make the guests stay perfect. I’ve never experienced a stay like this and we are already planning to come back. Read less

We came to Jock as part of our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The main jock lodge is fantastic - really cool aesthetic serving fantastic food and delicious wine. We are here in ‘winter’ although it was warm it wasn’t quite warm enough for jumping in the pool which looked so inviting. You can sit on the deck and take in fantastic views of the riverbed . We were lucky enough to see herds of giraffe and impala animal while having a drink which was a great experience! The staff in the lodge provided a 5 star level of service. The accommodation was next level tranquility. Beautifully decorated with a tent at the end of the deck for sleeping under the stars. It was a truly relaxing experience fit for a honeymoon. Safari itself was a truly amazing experience. The rangers work so hard to find and animals and yet remain respectful of them in their environments. He was incredibly knowledgable of the animals and the landscape. Our guide Jan also helped us make the most of our experience by taking us out for extra time to find what we really wanted to see. We were lucky enough to see all of the big 5! Read less

It was my girlfriends 21st whilst we were there and the entire staff made this so special and went the extra mile to make the day memorable forever. Read less

We have just had the most amazing stay at Jocks Safari Lodge. From the moment Jan collected us from Skukuza airport in one of the lodge jeeps, the whole experience was outstanding ! We were greeted by Darcy in reception, who showed us to our room. Our room/lodge had 2 four-poster beds .. in the room and on the veranda (ie. You can sleep outdoors if you want to ! ). The rooms were cleaned every day with towels changed. Our bed was ‘turned-down’ every evening while we were at dinner. The food is outstanding and plentiful .. we definitely ate tooo much. All the staff were fantastic .. Precious, Thandelike, Knowledge, Innocent .. just to name but a few ! Their service was brilliant and they all engaged and enjoyed conversation, banter and smiles. No request was too much trouble for the staff. The lodge overlooks a river and each day we had the magnificent lunchtime sight of elephants (20-30), all shapes and sizes, ambling past, eating the vegetation and drinking from water holes as we ate… it was quite a spectacle. Now to the ‘main event’ .. safaris !! We had 6 ‘drives’ in 3 days .. leaving the lodges at 6am .. back for breakfast at 9am .. and then leaving at 4pm and back by 7pm for dinner. Our driver for the whole stay was Jan .. what a great host. Over 20 years experience at Kruger .. he was amazing. We saw the ‘big 5’ at more .. Jan was great at using his vast experience, knowledge and intuition to track down the animals .. telling us all about them. Answering any question we ventured to throw at him. He was very ‘persistent’ too … you can drive for 30+ mins and not see very much .. and then Jan will spot something in the undergrowth .. like adorable leopard cubs. His eyesight was incredible. And that’s not mentioning his driving skills down dirt tracks, along river beds and up river banks .. wow. Thank you so so much for a wonderful life experience. If you’re ever thinking about doing a safari trip .. THIS is the way to do it !! Everything about the experience was just brilliant !! Read less
