Kruger gate hotel is stunning and immersive in nature, from the jungle style board walls surrounded by baboons, the spacious, clean, comfy, double bed rooms, challenging mini golf course, giant chess, and the incredible views overlooking the infinity pool. Although cold, the pool is spacious and there are plenty of seating areas where staff will check on you and take drinks orders providing you with everything you need. Whilst overlooking the pool we saw families of elephants, a fish eagle, a herd of buffalo and various interesting birds including storks and pied kingfishers to name a few. If you visit back after dark there are hippos right next to the pool some nights, multiple bats and using the torch behind the bar we were fortunate to see hyenas playing and calling to eachother, just watch out for the vervet monkeys especially if you order a pizza! Even found a large praying mantis one afternoon!
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, however one of the waiters at dinner, named Aleck, was a highlight of our experience - on our first night at dinner (when we looked very confused) he gave us a warm place to sit near a heater, explained how everything worked and where we could find everything we needed, following this he saved the table for us every night, was always there to pour our water take drinks orders and one night I didn’t even touch my chair! Such a kind hearted soul who made us feel so welcome and appreciated!
Evening entertainment was delightful, everyone has a beautiful voice and cultural dancing skills,If you have a birthday on the trip it is definitely worth mentioning to staff! Their incredible voices and harmonies truly make the evening magical
Fantastic range of food including samples of different game meat across the days - I really enjoyed the ostrich kebabs!
Would 100% reccomend this hotel to anyone, we went on safari with tourcampus, so didn’t get to experience a Kruger gate hotel game drive, but the range of animals is diverse and one of my favourites were the baby hyenas!
