We stayed at Kruger Gate Hotel for four nights, and from start to finish the experience was nothing short of outstanding.
Even before we arrived, Siphiwe Sibiya was incredible with our booking. We had some specific requirements, and on arrival she personally showed us different room options so we could choose what suited us best. That level of care and attention immediately set the tone for the stay.
The food deserves special mention — it was truly indescribable. Every evening offered a generous, beautifully presented buffet with an incredible variety of options. Our absolute favourite was the stir-fry station, where the chef prepares your meal right in front of you. This was a huge win for our fussy eater boys, who loved being able to choose exactly what they wanted. And the desserts — completely out of this world.
Breakfasts were just as impressive. The egg station was fantastic, with eggs made any way you like, and the spread felt endless: cereals, cold meats and cheeses, pastries, omelettes, eggs, salads, fruits, yoghurts, chia pudding, fresh fruit juices, smoked salmon — truly something for everyone.
The facilities were perfect for families. We loved the quiet adult pool area, where you can order food and drinks and relax while watching animals nearby, as well as the children’s pool, which allowed our boys to just be themselves and play freely.
But the true standout of Kruger Gate Hotel is the people. Every staff member was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. A very special mention goes to Sarah Watson, who was absolutely exceptional. When my son was stung by a wasp, she lovingly assisted with cream and a plaster, making him feel completely safe and cared for. Later, when we realised we had left our game drive booking until the last minute and it was fully booked, Sarah calmly came up with a brilliant alternative plan that worked perfectly for our family. On the day we left, she was there to wish us well — someone whose heart for her work truly shines through.
This was a dream holiday — a place where every need is taken care of, allowing you to fully relax, bond as a family, and soak in the beauty that is so unique to our beautiful country. We cannot recommend Kruger Gate Hotel highly enough and will treasure the memories made here.
