“Amazing Hotel, room, service and staff”

OMG, my partner is so fedup with me since we left about "Franschhoek" and especially this place we stayed - it was amazing - we arrived from a long trip and 3 days from a friends wedding into this hotel, and I have never hugged or thanked my partner so much for a) finding this place and b) booking it - it was one of the best places I have stayed and I have travelled the world with work and for pleasure. We arrived frazzled, however our room was not yet available - any other place would have been an issue, not here - the complimentary driver took us into town for a coffee, and picked us up - firstly the whole hotel works on the system of Whatsapp, which I feel the rest of the world need to wake up too ! you can whatsapp the reception and/or hotel any time of the day or night with any question and they respond immediately, e.g Can you pick us up at this spot in town (send) driver turns up, can we book this/that (send) bosh response in minutes, its a great idea. The Driver then picked us up, and then taken to our room, which was out of this world, it's like a mesh of Colonial and Italian dream houses, our room was 2 story, bedroom, and lovely bathroom with a patio and lots of chairs and an amazing view, upstairs was a sofa, tv, more space, and outside balcony to watch the sun go down - we were in room 7 - the place was amazing, the staff so attentive - I needed some shirts washed and ironed as we were due to go out the next night, and again whatsapp (send) within minutes someone appeared at our door to take my washing ! Went down for Breakfast and again could not fault the staff, they were amazing and attentive - the Manageress came down and spoke to us, she was amazing (sorry cannot remember her name) however we asked for some ideas and places to visit, and within minutes of her leaving our conversation she texted with a list of restaurants and places to visit, includng a local safari... As I mentioned, my partner and I visited many hotels on this trip (due to a friends wedding) but she is now fed up with me saying "County House and Villas" was my favourite, it really was, loved the room, service, staff everything - thank you guys !

Outstanding and perfect stay in the heart of Franschhoek. We stayed 3 nights and it was exceptional from start to finish. If you are intending on staying here I would highly recommend it.

... this is how erstwhile Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson, described the Aston Martin Vantage V12 some time ago. I thought the same of this at the historic Franschhoek Country House & Villas -- a restored 1890s manor-house turned into a luxury hotel and villas. I have never experienced such a warm welcome, from Reception to the gardeners and room staff. The gardens — dotted with many water features, gargoyles and fountains — are immaculately maintained with indigenous flora, and the occasional chef’s garden. Our room was generous, very comfortable, and spacious with a private balcony overlooking the extensive gardens and pools. Most peaceful. The free Wi-Fi was very fast over the entire estate. As for food, the Eggs Benedict from the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Was our stay perfect? Well nowhere is actually quite perfect is it? The shower was quite a challenge with separate hot and cold taps rather than a mixer system. Achieving the ideal temperature took some time and very much a hit and miss affair. (But the aforementioned Aston Martin V12 isn’t perfect either: it’s very thirsty.) However, all in, we had a great stay over three days in Franschhoek set among landscaped gardens, vineyards and mountain views, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Wonderful!
