“Professional and welcoming staff”

It’s a bit pricey but a lovely hotel. Fabulous rooms, great location but above all the staff are wonderful. Especially our experience with the front desk manager,,, I think his name was Ezel. I should know cos he knew my name every time we chatted. Top class professional. Highly recommended as a small to medium size hotel.

For over $400 per night I do expect a clean hotel. Sorry to say, this was not. From chair cushions, shower cubical, sewerage smell from the sink, carpet in room not vacuumed, balcony filthy, used water glasses not changed from the first day. The list can go on. Breakfast was worse than a university cafeteria, the staff only engaged when we initiated conversation. This was completely opposite from our experience everywhere else in SA, which was perfect in every way. We did write to the General Manager with these comments, not even the courtesy to follow up which is was I'm sharing this on a public forum. As already stated great location but I'm sorry to say that interior designers need to make sure experienced operators takeover when they leave and not leave it to instagram to show pretty pictures only.

Stayed at Oude Werf for 2 nights during our recent SA trip. We wanted to see Stellenbosch having only ever driven through and wanted somewhere central. Oude Werf could not be more central. It's a great little hotel with wonderful staff and good breakfasts. Highly recommended.
