“Below High-End Spa Level Delivery”

I recently visited Maya Ubud Resort & Spa with friends where we all booked the 3-hour package (massage, body scrub, facial, and flower bath) in a private riverside room.
The setting was clean, peaceful, with relaxing natural sounds of the river and nature. The therapist was polite and professional. The massage was pleasant but average. Despite requesting firm pressure on the intake form, much of it felt very light, at times more like gentle stroking than therapeutic work.
The body scrub was applied, left to dry, then flaked off with little to no actual exfoliation. The facial was enjoyable but not at the level I experience at a professional spa.
The flower bath was the highlight, beautifully presented and genuinely relaxing.
Overall, I left not feeling particularly relaxed or rejuvenated, which was disappointing given the time and cost. Of our group, 4 had treatments they described as outstanding, while one other friend and I had a noticeably less satisfying experience, suggesting inconsistency in service quality.

We had such a wonderful stay celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the stunning grounds and incredible views created a truly relaxing atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a villa, which made the experience even more special—it was peaceful, beautifully presented, and the perfect place to unwind.
The entire property was spotless, with all facilities clean and very well maintained. There was also a great range of dining options on-site, and we really enjoyed sampling the cocktails throughout our stay.
A special mention to Desi at the Tree Bar, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—nothing was too much trouble, and their service really stood out.
Overall, it was a memorable and relaxing experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
