Amari is the resort to choose if you want easy access to the bustling crowds at Patong, but a quiet and private reprieve when you've had enough! The hotel is situated at what I'd call the end of Patong, up a hill so it's super private and safe. The lobby is beautiful where you can see their famous bar with its impressive view of the beach (during our stay there were heaps of people who travelled there for a drink just to take photos because it was so beautiful). The rooms are nicely appointed - however, take note that only some rooms have a bathtub. We wanted to stay in their 2 bedroom suites but because it didn't have a bathtub, we reluctantly had to choose a different type of room. Anyway, the room we had was only accessible via a flight of stairs - so those with mobility issues it will be worth checking if they can put you on the ground floor for easy access. To get to your rooms you need to call a buggy from reception, which came quite quickly. The pools were lovely, and when the tide is low, you can also access a private beach from the hotel. The playroom was equipped with plenty of toys in good condition and also Playstations, however be careful if you have super young kids as the floor is quite rough in some areas (but the team tried to solve this with soft padded floor mats). Check out was quick and efficient, and Golf (who helped us) gave my daughter a little stuffed elephant too, which was a nice touch. We also enjoyed their welcome drink (which is a butterfly pea flower drink) and even asked for it again upon check out which they happily obliged.
