I was on a 18 day Rockies & Alaska Grand Discovery holiday with Titan Travel and stayed for three nights at the Caribou Lodge in Banff. I had a very comfortable room with seating area, tv, kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer, fridge, iron & ironing board, bedside clock, safe, all toiletries in the bathroom, shower over the bath, very good housekeeping, the staff all friendly and helpful, breakfast wasn’t included on this tour, each morning I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the lovely restaurant and you paid when you finished or you could put it onto your room.
The hotel is in an excellent location nice short walk to shops, bars, restaurants, supermarket, and everything you want to explore, Banff is a lovely resort town.
We had a excellent tour manager Darren on this holiday he looked after us all and was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable, our coach driver was Richard he drove us all around and got us to our destinations safely.
We had excellent itinerary whilst in Banff, even lucky to see a brown bear very exciting and don’t forget to try the famous beavertail, on our free day ventured up on the gondola to sulphur mountain what spectacular views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Caribou Lodge everything was perfect would definitely recommend this hotel it’s in a perfect location.

Poor, worst hotel of our entire trip.
Jun 28, 2025karan a
The ground level rooms are bad as they have chlorine smell in the corridor and in the room. The TV (television) provided in the room is really outdated.
The room doesn’t have air conditioners, and air vents were not working. I believe it is worst than 2 star hotels.
Poorly designed rooms

At almost $600 a night, one would expect very good facilities. NOT! The first room we were given had a huge bulkhead jutting into the room. As seniors who might need the bathroom during the night, we requested a change. Our room (331) for three nights had the following deficiencies:
- the bathroom light switch was defective
- the bathroom sink tap was very tight and squeaked when turned on or rotated for temperature (temperature direction reversed)
-the toilet was behind the door with a doorstop on the floor, a nighttime obstacle to step on
- very bad lighting in the bathroom, especially at the mirror
- no towel rack at the bathtub
- no convenient place to plug in the coffee and teapot (we used the bathroom)
- no daily room service unless requested
- very dated and worn furniture in the lobby and room
- the elevator door was grinding when opening
The hotel is well located and free parking and transit passes were provided. However, it is very difficult to recommend a hotel that fails to maintain its facilities.

Beautiful hotel

The hotel is very beautiful and our room on the second floor was lovely, with a nice little balcony and chairs to sit and watch the world go by. The room was very comfortable, clean and the beds were very plush and cozy. We didn’t have a chance to check out the in-house restaurant, but I have read that it is highly recommended. We were able to take a nice 20 minute stroll to downtown Banff for shopping and dinner – very nice area. I would like to have had another day or two here!

Another Great Stay

The room was clean and well maintained, bed and pillows comfortable - perfect after long days hiking and exploring the local area. The hot pool and sauna were also very welcome amenities after the hikes!
Location wise, it's a 10 minute walk into the main downtown area, but it's an easy walk - or the Roam bus is just outside. It's close enough to the main town to get to everything, but also not too close that it's noisy.
