All hotel staff very helpful and it was useful being able to check in here for Rocky Mountaineer too. Ideal hotel for staying in Banff and touring around local area. Good amenities in hotel too with laundry service, pools etc. Fab Read less

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel reception area is lovely as were the reception staff, very helpful. Upon check in we were given complimentary tickets for the Roam bus which was handy as we had tickets booked for the Banff Gondola and this bus took us from the bus stop right outside the hotel straight there. The room was a bit dated but was still comfortable. There was no air con & it was quite warm but we could open a window which let air in. It is a 10-15 min flat walk into town. If going to Banff again we would not hesitate to stay here. Read less

First, I found the AI produced opinion incredibly and surprisingly accurate. It’s done as a summary of ALL the opinions of real people that reviewed the property. The main problem with this hotel is that because it’s close to the main attractions, they get people coming who drove hours to get there and will be desperate to get accommodations. Most of the hotels in the small town have that same advantage. Therefore, they can have dated furniture, mediocre facilities, small rooms and ridiculously high prices on everything. For $350 a night for a regular room, one would expect at least breakfast, but not here. You’ll have to pay another $28 per person for a so-so breakfast at best.. I believe that tax and tip are additional. Unfortunately, the small pool and the jacuzzi was out of order as well, though to their credit they DID allow me to use a neighboring hotels facilities. Not so convenient but better than nothing. Having traveled to more than 95 countries and still going strong, I can say with confidence that the big name hotel brands that cost less than half of this and most other hotels in Banff, provide far better value in every category! I saw only one (Moxy) and that was a staggering $500+ per night. It’s so unfortunate, but I find this to be the case in most popular “park towns” in North America where people go for the beautiful scenery. Often times local governments for some silly reason don’t even allow the big-name brands into the town. Someone’s getting paid under the table! In addition, expect to pay through the nose for almost anything on the Main Street. In summary, if you’re going to a popular town like Banff for a few days, expect to spend a couple of thousand dollars at the very least (unless you’re roughing it in a tent and sleeping bag!) The motel is dated. Got locked out of my room & missed my tour bus. Meals at The Keg are excellent. Service staff are friendly & helpful. There is no aircon in the rooms so don’t make the mistake of turning on the heating like I did. Fans are available.
