Dating to 1866, the lobby’s historic sandstone walls don’t get in the way of modernity at Hyatt Regency Calgary, where contemporary comforts come in the form of complimentary WiFi access, mod-con packed guestrooms, a 24-hour gym with Fitness Concierge, and the full-service Stillwater Spa. Hugging the TELUS Convention Centre, this urban utopia has downtown sights like Calgary Tower just down the street. You can even catch a glimpse of downtown Calgary while you’re at the indoor lap pool, with its accompanying hot tub and steam room. In fact, Calgary runs through every part of this hotel, with more than 500 pieces of original Canadian art curated and revealed to travellers to unveil the spirit of the town and nation — and with local flavours on the menu at its Thomsons Restaurant, and seafood at its Catch & the Oyster Bar.

We stayed in one of the conference suites with a connecting bedroom during the Stampede. Very spacious and comfortable. Hotel is in a perfect location for the Stampede and staff were very friendly. Bar / restaurant served good food at a reasonable price.

Comfortable bed, large spacious bathroom and shower. Great location, just a short 15 minute walk to the stampede grounds.

Came for the stampede, and this was an excellent location to enjoy a lot of the downtown activities. There was a float with a singer that stopped in front of the hotel for guests to enjoy, the location is close to a pedestrian street with great resturants and patio, also very close to the train which takes you to the grounds. Perfect spot
High recommended very comfortable, clean & central location in downtown Calgary.

We stayed one night at the Hyatt Regency as a base for Stampede. We thought the location would be good as it was within walking distance, however what we didn't expect was how many fun activities would be taking place right outside the hotel doors. Pancake breakfasts, horse parades and SOOO many businesses that had completely bought in to the Stampede theme. We had so much fun walking around on Stephen Avenue that we decided to stay there instead of going back to the Stampede that night.
As for the rooms, it's a Hyatt so you should know what you're getting. Everything was clean and in working order, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were fantastic and amazingly attentive considering all the chaos going on around the hotel. We look forward to returning to the Hyatt Regency Calgary, possibly outside of Stampede dates so that we can try all of the fun restaurants and activities in the area in slightly calmer circumstances.
