It was my family’s first time to visit Lake Louise and chose to dine at Louiza Restaurant by Fairmont Hotel. We were promptly seated and shortly after the host offered us water and enthusiastically mentioning that it came straight from glacier…adding to our excitement. My husband took a sip and I quickly stop him as I noticed the glass was visibly dirty. We immediately informed the server and another server came to apologized. While we were concerned about seriousness of the issue, we decided to continue with our meal as the rest of the family was still eager and excited. After we finished dining we called the manager to raise our concern, where the server gave us complimentary dessert which we appreciated. However the manager response was rather dismissive, she never return or follow if everything was satisfactory. We hope that our experience serves as a reminder that even a renowned hotels, attention to details and customer care should have never overlooked. Excellence is not just reputation, it’s about consistent service and genuine care to guest

Afternoon Tea experience

The room in which afternoon tea is served is big and so accommodates a lot of people. It has lovely views looking out over the lake but we suspected there was some unspoken hierarchy about who gets to sit on the lower level with the good lake views and our suspicion is that you have to be a resident. That is fine unless you have your heart set on that view, we weren’t bothered but the couple on the table next to us for example were very disappointed as they had chosen it for an anniversary and the staff would not move them. To be fair it was pretty full. Doesn’t affect the quality of the afternoon tea but something to bear in mind if you have your heart set on the perfect view.

Resting on it's location

The location is breathtaking but the service isn't quite up to scratch. Maybe it is beacause of all teh day trippers to the lake but there is something not quiet right about some of the attitudes of the staff in this hotel. Reception and Concierge were very welcoming, restaurant and bar staff a little less so. This is a very expensive hotel,…

This is a very expensive hotel, many people are here on trips of a lifetime, treat them like that and give them the absolutely best service please. We also stayed at Banff Springs and I have to say that really was a 5 star hotel with 5 star service.

Disappointing and dated hotel

This hotel is definitely not worth the hype that it gets on social media. The hotel is old and dated. This hotel is definitely not worth the hype that it gets on social media. The hotel is old and dated. The front desk and concierge staff seem to lack a knowledge about the hotel or an interest in being friendly and welcoming. The rooms are TINY! We were supposed to be upgraded but were told that this tiny room is better than an upgraded one. The property is overrun by tourists and screaming kids. Lake Louise is beautiful and worth a visit - but this hotel is way too old and the staff is just not friendly to warrant this price. We’re checking out tomorrow and looking forward to a different hotel in Jasper.
