My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights at the Fairmont CLL in August. It was the most amazing experience. We had lovely blue skies the entire time.
We arrived at 12pm and dropped our luggage. Reception informed us that our room was available immediately which was great to hear. Then they also let us know that we were upgraded to a lakeview room which literally looked like a postcard.
We arrived around noon, dropped off our luggage, and were delighted to hear not only was our room ready early, but we had also been upgraded to a lakeview room. The view was truly breathtaking and like a picture postcard.
The stay was so special. We walked around the lake, the fairview lookout and hiked the Big Beehive. We joined the s'mores session and relaxed in the sun on the lakeside chairs for hotel guests.
During our stay we visited both the Lakeview Lounge and Alpine Social on our two nights. Both were great, had super friendly staff and great food.
The hotel also surprised us with prosecco, a sweet treat, and a card in our room to celebrate our recent house purchase.
One of our highlights was waking up and heading down to the lake at sunrise before the non hotel guests arrived. It felt very private and peaceful.
The hotel has a few shops which are great for browsing. We particularly liked the small bookstore which is run by a former mountaineer. Some of the books on sale in the shop are actually from his personal collection.
We also made use of the self-parking (a bit pricey, but the location was ideal).
We also went canoeing on LL. Being a guest of the hotel meant we could skip the main line and queue in the hotel guest line which took no more than 5 minutes to wait in.
Overall our stay was so magical. We loved it and would return again in a heartbeat!

We were able to enjoy the Fairmont Gold lounge area and found it to be extremely relaxing. The staff was continually present and supportive, especially a young lady name Romeny (I hope I have the name right?). The food offerings were excellent. It's a truly beautiful setting right on the lake with many places to eat, drink, and enjoy the lake and mountain ambiance. Would love to stay there again.

The setting of Lake Louise - even in the rain - is pretty spectacular, would have been nice to have been able to dress up but due to the complexity of travel and parking on site we had come out for the whole day via a pre booked bus and done a hike to Lake Agnes in the torrential rain before hand so we felt a little scruffy!
The hotel itself is incredible- huge and opulent, the dining room does have great views and even not sat by the window you could see them. ( Shame the diners behind us didnt feel the same, they were complaining about everything and had the staff and managers constantly at their beck and call).
The service did feel a little slow but we were not rushed for time. The tea was excellent - we were offered extra savouries and would have loved them but couldnt risk not being able to eat the cakes. A nice selection of teas and loved the little sandtimers.
Yes it was expensive but it was a one of special treat and not vastly beyond central London prices, glad I got to do it.
