The hotel

A veritable castle in the heart of the city, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is an impeccable symbol of indulgence and pedigree. Offering the luxury and services of a world-class hotel, all guest rooms are beautifully furnished with every attention to detail observed. Facilities include a state-of-the-art health club, accessible 24-hours a day, with indoor heated swimming pool and saunas. Pilates and Yoga classes are available at the Sitka Studios or treat yourself to some well-deserved pampering at the Absolute Spa. There’s also some prime shopping in the lobby with designers stores selling plenty to tempt you! Although you’re close to plenty of restaurants and bars in the downtown area, the Fairmont’s very own Notch8 Restaurant & Bar is the ideal place to relax and watch the world pass by. Named after a train’s top speed, achieved only by the most skilled conductors, the restaurant pays homage to the hotel’s storied history and legacy as a luxury hotel along the Canadian Pacific railway. A traditional afternoon tea is also served here daily — for a special occasion, add a glass of champagne or, if the kids want to tag along, childish delights include Bubblegum Tea, fresh strawberries and cream and a giant chocolate chip cookie!

But what really stood out to me was the service, especially after my stay. A huge shoutout to Edy, who went above and beyond to help me recover a lost item I had left in the room. He was incredibly helpful, responsive, and made the entire process of shipping it back to me quick and hassle-free. It's rare to experience such thoughtful support even after checkout, and I’m truly grateful. Highly recommend staying here, not just for the beautiful place, but for the top-tier service as well! My Partner and I booked this as a little staycation and enjoy downtown festivities which took place that weekend. Lots of festivals and parade was downtown that weekend. We stayed in room 1019 which was very spacious, room temperature was comfortable throughout the entire stay and when adjusted you could feel it activate quickly. We loved ordering room service as we were very tierd following our walking around the city, all our IRD servers were extremely helpful, setting up our dining areas for us, making general conversation and wait times for food/drink were routinely 5 minutes less than estimated wait time. Food was incredible - I recommend the spaghetti pomodoro Dinner in Notch 8 on Saturday was fantastic, Ricky took care of us and ensured all the food/drink met our expectations. I thought I was full but it was recommended we try the chocolate cake which surely was amazing - lets say I needed the gym the next morning. Speaking of the gym, wow what an incredible renovation. Equipment is brand new and I didn't notice any machines OOO which you normally find in some hotel gyms. Only recommendation for gym would be to add additional weights on the racks as there was only 1 plate per size - some people would like to lift more than 1 plate when they do certain exercise. Pool, and Sauna were great aswell. We look forward to our next stay Read less
