The hotel

Ready to party in Downtown Vancouver? This is your ideal base to do so, not just for it’s location, but for the hotel itself too! The standard rooms here are pretty compact, but if you’re just looking for somewhere to rest your head after a night out then you won’t be disappointed. Of course, if you want that bit more space to relax, you can opt for a Superior Room or even a Junior Suite (which is perfect for a group of friends to share together!). Start your evening in the Living Room where you’ll be greeted by happy hour, hearty food options and live TV’s – there’s always a reason to end up here. And then when it’s time to up the vibe, head downstairs to the basement. A basement that you wish you had at home, here you can grab a drink, boogie on the dancefloor, or even roll a game of skeeball (that could be interesting after happy hour ey!). Whilst the hotel has everything ready for the perfect party, you’re also within touching distance of many other eclectic bars and restaurants – so no two nights need to be the same. The hotel staff have some great insider knowledge that you can tap into – whatever kind of place you’re looking for. Come day time, you’re just a stroll away from BC place where you can catch the BC Lions or Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Or take a wander through the famous Stanley Park to get some fresh air after your night on the town.

This hotel has character from the foyer to the lampshades in the bar to the artwork in the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable which was an absolute delight after travelling from Australia and staying awake all day after a long flight. Before arriving, I’d read reviews about the location that were a bit concerning. Walking down Granville Street early morning felt a little unsavoury but when I returned from exploring the city later in the day it was alive with traffic and people. I strolled down the street for dinner and returned feeling very comfortable and safe (on my own). On my second night, I walked to Canada Bay for dinner and back, once again there were lots of people around. There are some interesting and somewhat unsavoury characters around but it seems very safe. Breakfast was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary wine a bonus. I would definitely recommend. There is no way during the day (10 am to 4 pm) to enter the hotel without several steep stairs and an automated door that does not remain open while you attempt to climb the stairs with your luggage. We did not get any assistance until I fell on the stairs at the doorway. The room was too small for 2 queen size beds such that there was no place to put your suitcase. The dining room is filthy. It looked like the furniture and rugs had not been cleaned in years. Read less

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is well placed and the rooms are good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The air con is very noisy and you can hear the low rumble of other people’s most of the night. There is a car park for the hotel for an extra charge.

Avoid at all costs!! Not only was our room under noisy rooftop machinery that reached 57dbs at times which the management said we could be downgraded to a lower room on a lower floor but this hotel then cancelled the type of booking we had that was eligible for points / nights when we partially paid around 30% in points. No other Accor hotel has ever done this to us before. Hotel is also at the drug addicts end of town, hotel presents itself as trendy but the area it is in is a dive. Read less
