food portions was ridiculous also The menu options were extremely limited with only 3 entree options. And the food would take a long time to be ready
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Could easily be a 4 or 5 stars with some simple fixes and updates!

Our stay was 6 nights and this was our honeymoon. We have been to 3 other Caribbean islands, however this was our first all inclusive. Rooms 2.5/5 The rooms are extremely dated but we don’t mind “rustic”. The problem lies in the fact that this is a bug infested tropical island which is absolutely fine and expected. It’s that the doors to the cottages have 3 inch gaps between the door and the floor allowing so many bugs to get in. We spoke to other couples and they said they were having similar problems. The rooms do a good job of creating a “romantic” atmosphere with no TVs and dual showers etc. but there are many flaws that could be fixed easily with some fairly easy and simple repairs. There are gaps between the wall and the roof. We booked a sunset pool cottage that could not even be used at sunset because you would be absolutely eaten alive. There is no skimmer for each cottage so you can’t get in in the morning until someone comes to skim the hundreds of dead bugs out which can sometimes be as late as 1pm. So it felt as if it was a waste of money with how little use you could get out of it. A skimmer, citronella candles, tiki torches, etc are all extremely cheap additions that could potentially help this issue that they do not do. Staff 5/5 The staff were all extremely friendly and nice. The reception desk staff in particular were so kind and helpful. I would like to note that based on other reviews and speaking to other couples at the resort you should NEVER leave anything of value in the hotel room. Not even the safe is “safe”. We heard rumors of hundreds of dollars being stolen out of wallets that were locked in a safe. The only staff members that have access are the managers that have a key. Food 2.5/5 Soooo many people raved about the food here which leads me to wonder what in the world they eat at home normally to constitute them thinking it’s high quality. The food is very mediocre and sometimes just plain bad. They consistently mess up orders or just don’t bring out sides or appetizers that were ordered. I truly don’t understand where they consistently get lost in translation but I can guarantee you will have to ask for something you already ordered while here. This happened to us 4 times in a 6 night stay. They also put the same dry coleslaw garnish on every single meal. Rice based dish? Coleslaw. Pasta? Coleslaw. Meat? Coleslaw. Eventually you just pick it off and put it to the side. Drink 2/5 The drinks at the bar are HEAVILY watered down. If you want to actually taste something remotely like you ordered, you need to order a double. The bar tenders also do not know how to make a lot of drinks even simple ones like a mule. View 5/5 The view is what this place runs on because it’s absolutely stunning. Truly I have never had such gorgeous views at any place I have stayed. The mountains and ocean are to die for. Misc. Be prepared to be hassled at the beach while trying to relax. People will try and sell you jet ski rides, sunset sails, jewelry, hats, wraps, etc on the beach all day every day. They are relentless and eventually you have to become kind of mean to be left alone. Cocos advertises on being a child free, couples only, relaxing paradise. However there is a hut on Jolly beach that sells souvenirs and they bring their children. This kid was yelling for hours playing some game on his phone and eventually a GUEST had to say hey buddy can you please be quiet? The parent didn’t do it, the hotel didn’t do it, the guests had to. That’s ridiculous and the hotel should keep an eye on it. If you get approached by “Lyndon the lobster man” he is not a scam and in fact might be the best meal you eat your entire stay. He catches it fresh and delivers it to you on the beach along with very nice side items. I would also recommend creole tours. Truly was the nicest excursion I have ever been on. The staff was so friendly and pointed out different sites around the island. They cooked an amazing lunch for us on a remote island. The boat was immaculately clean and large enough to host everyone without being cramped in the slightest. Also had plenty of shade for those who didn’t want to roast in the sun all day as well as a stocked bar that actually poured drinks well. Overall, I truly think Cocos could be a 4.5/5 hotel if they closed for maybe 3 months in the off season and did some EASY repairs and upgrades. Primarily the cottages and the food. Read less

Cocos Hotel Vacation was our first time in Antigua and our first boutique style hotel and it was amazing! Beautiful cottages with breathtaking views! Great friendly staff! Two gorgeous beaches! and the food....AMAZING! We are picky food people and loved the menu and specials each day! Also loved having the grill by the beach bar for the mid day snack or when we didn't feel like going to lunch in the restaurant. Keep in mind, the hotel is on a small mountain so there are hills and stairs to climb. It didn't bother us at all and loved having two beaches to choose from each day and loved having the amazing view from our room! We have been to many places over the years and CoCo's is at the top of being our favorite! If you are looking for something unique in a vacation that is quiet, peaceful but full of amazing views and great beaches, Coco's Hotel is for you! Book the trip! Read less

Beautiful location with the best service if you're into a low key paradise rustic getaway. Outdoor showers were the best but be prepared to walk and climb stairs depending on your room location on the hillside of this beautiful resort.
