Set on one of Antigua's many beautiful beaches, the Galley Bay Resort & Spa offers guests a fabulous combination of superior service, Caribbean cuisine and rustic luxury in a very natural setting. Much of the architecture here is inspired by the French artist Gauguin. The charming individual suites have their own splash pool and are surrounded by lush gardens and views of the lagoon. There are three excellent open-air restaurants, all beachfront, offering intimate, candlelit dining of excellent quality. Ismay's Restaurant offers a higher quality dining experience to be shared for that special occasion, whilst the more laid-back Barefoot Grill is a great place to enjoy a tasty quesadilla made with resort grown produce. At sunset, hors d'oeuvres are served at the bar which overlooks the sea from under its Tahitian-style roof. There are activities such as non-motorised water sports and a recently expanded gym, but reclining with a novel on the beachfront deck from the library is equally as popular.

98 rooms on 1 or 2 floors. All with balcony/terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi, coffee maker, safe, bathrobes and hairdryer. Deluxe Beachfront Rooms are on the upper floors, located right on the beach. Rooms are large and are well appointed with spacious bathrooms which have a walk-in double shower. Rooms sleep maximum 2 adults.

All Inclusive of: all meals, snacks and drinks by the glass (name-brand spirits, sparkling wine by the glass, Caribbean beers, tropical coolers and soft drinks, excludes bottled water). All activities and entertainment above unless otherwise stated. Restaurants open on rotation.

3 restaurants and 1 beach grill: Sea Grape Restaurant (serves award-winning Euro-Caribbean cuisine; breakfast, lunch and dinner), Gauguin Restaurant (offers traditional local cuisine where you can dine in individual cabanas for romantic meals; lunch and dinner), Barefoot Grill (offers a relaxed and laid-back, beachside atmosphere, serving burgers and 'basket style' sandwiches such as the classic Cuban, all made using home-grown fruits, herbs and vegetables from the resort).For special occasions try Ismay's Restaurant* (International island flavours, open evenings only — a US$45 per person supplement applies, payable locally, subject to change). 4 bars: Teepee Bar, Lounge Bar, Gauguin Bar and Rum Shack Bar serving different rums from around the Caribbean and delicious curated rum cocktails. The coffee shop features specialty coffee, tea drinks and homemade pasties. All restaurants are beachfront. Restaurant hours and availability are subject to change. Restaurants open on a rotation basis due to season/occupancy.

Dress code: breakfast/lunch: shoes must be worn at all times and bathing suits must be covered and dry. Dinner: men are required to wear collared shirts with long trousers or stylish jeans. T-shirts, shorts, caprise and ripped jeans are not accepted. Women are asked to wear dresses, skirts, long trousers or stylish tailored shorts or jeans. No short shorts, tank tops or beach flip-flops are allowed.

For all guests in June, July and August: dress shorts can be worn (no short shorts or cutoffs). Standard dress code applies for Ismays.

After four visits to this island and stays at several other resorts, I can say without hesitation—this one is the best. From its unbeatable beachfront location to its warm, welcoming atmosphere, everything about this place is first class and worth every penny. 🏖️ Best Beachfront on the Island No elevators, no towering buildings—just charming rooms that open directly onto the waterfront. You wake up to the sound of waves and step out into paradise. The beach and pool areas are constantly patrolled by attentive staff offering drinks, making relaxation effortless. 👨‍🍳 Exceptional Staff & Management The heart of this resort is its people. A special shoutout to Vincent Andrew, whose familiar face from a previous resort was a welcome surprise at Galley B. His presence and professionalism added a personal touch to our stay. Chef Gavin, a Michelin-starred talent, went above and beyond to make my daughter’s white coat celebration truly special. His culinary artistry and gracious demeanor made every meal unforgettable. Mr. Henry took the time to understand my concerns as a proud father and offered thoughtful ideas to honor my daughter’s achievement. Oh my from arriving at reception and being driven down over the extensive lake we were not disappointed. Walked into room 43 overlooking the beautiful blue sea. Room bathroom is huge modern and ultra clean. Peeps can’t see in but be aware nighttime with lights on they can….. outside shower if not full on press little button on head to sort this. Each sea view room has allocated beds on beach. Dreamy😄! Beach bar tenders patrol beach but not so frequent as busy periods I’m guessing but you do have a full fridge… Pool not busy at this time of year has buzzers for drinks oh my! All meals a la carte if wished but we chose to eat from the beachfront grill at lunch time.Gin bar not open every day as low season but not a problem. Coffee shack always open fab ice creams. Gin bar every few days… low season…. Booked catamaran lobster lunch by deposit turned out that was a premium you could just have chicken and fish. Which was good as for the first time I was sea sick! Lucky we cancelled the lobster….. 50 dollars for two…. You need to be a strong swimmer on the reef. Entertainment fantastic always a different band. Bar drinks crazy every one premium brands no rubbish. We witnessed a turtle giving birth and helped with baby turtle release with Ashton, Fab time with zornel on a bob cat experience what a guy! All in all book a fantastic trip you won’t be disappointed will definitely be back in a few years …..

“PERFECTION”

My husband and I had an amazing 10 night stay at Galley Bay last month. It was my husband’s third visit and I have been so many times I have lost count! Firstly the staff. They are all very special. To name just a few I will always remember Pearl with her lovely smile and the fact she got my husband a cushion at mealtimes to help with his bad back. The manager Cedric with his cheery wave and smile and always making time for a chat despite being very busy. Shiloh from water sports with his vast knowledge of Antigua and who hasn’t aged a bit in the 20 plus years I have known him and Niquan who took us out on a boat trip which was great. The food. The food is very good with plenty of choice from delicious steaks to amazing fish most of which we cannot get in the UK and the cakes and pastries are brilliant. The rooms. They are very comfortable and as we had a beach front room we could lie in bed and look straight out into the ocean. The bed is big and comfortable and as someone who doesn’t sleep well at home I find I always sleep well at Galley Bay. The wildlife. The tropical birds are beautiful and there are some lovely ducks wandering around and also a mongoose or two who say a quick hello and disappear. All in all Galley Bay offers charm, relaxation and quality. I can’t wait to return.
