However, 1) after the first day our room had no bottled water to drink. Their water “fountain” is located down by the main pool and it’s such a distance and hassle to get a glass of water. Much less in the middle of the night when we were thirsty, no drinks or water was available. 2) Food options were limited. The two main restaurants (Sailes and Tales and the Pizza Hut (forgot the name) with the amazing food were only open from 12-4:30/5pm. So you really had to hurry and get the food in such a short time. The hub that was open until 1am had “finger foods” but nothing that would sustain in my opinion. 3) Money isn’t the issue, but check-out being at 11am and unable to at least enjoy a little lunch is crazy to me. Couldn’t even grab a burger or pizza to catch my flight because you have to leave by 11:30am and during that time, no restaurants are open. So if you missed breakfast, that’s it, you’ll be hungry until 12. Also it’s far from everything, so you really have to ensure you eat when whichever restaurant is open. I’ve travelled to many all inclusive hotels and they’d allow guests to grab lunch and then leave once you’ve return the key etc. to each their own I guess. 4) not much entertainment either, granted we travelled during off-season I assume. Overall, I wouldn’t go back but I would still recommend to any colleagues or relatives traveling to the beautiful Antigua! Read less

Unbelievable location complimented by the amazing staff. Casey A in the coffee shop truly loves her job creating a perfect coffee. The shuttles are awesome when you're walking around the site looking tired. You will always get a lift to where you are going. From start to finish, my family and I's stay last week was absolutely amazing! The hotel truly gave us that authentic Caribbean feel, with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond every component of the resort, I have to highlight the staff during our stay. Their friendliness and professionalism made everything extra special. • Servers: Kady-ann, Takara, and Shawnee were wonderful, attentive, kind, and always serving with a smile. Theodore: Absolutely exceptional! He stood out as a true leader in his area, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. • Watersports / Activities: Lennon is a skilled teacher and is amazing at what he does. He made every waters sport activity exciting and safe. Denie and Devon also provided great service. • Guest Services: Dalia was incredibly courteous and sweet. She consistently went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and happy. This resort has an outstanding team that genuinely cares about their guests. Beyond the team; the entertainment, array of food choices, activities, and beautiful pools/beaches added to the finishing touches of what makes the resort one of a kind. I left with beautiful memories and cannot wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true Caribbean experience! Read less

The restaurants and food was delicious I ate mainly at the Seabreeze restaurant, once at Sails and Tails, had a mocha most days from the cafe 1761 and enjoyed all meals. My room was clean and extremely spacious, beds were comfortable and the view from our balcony was superb. I would like to shout out staff members who made our trip even more special… Theodore, Vinette at reception, Egbert who greeted each day at Seabreeze restaurant, Chef Khari, (Sail and Tails) Renaldo, Chemar, who drove us around the grounds to and from our rooms in the buggy’s, Lorenzo who is the maintenance person, Keisha (egg station at Seabreeze restaurant), and Super Mario down at the lovers beach I would definitely recommend this hotel stay and will be back. One critic would be to stop using ‘Complete seasoning’ on the fish in all restaurants, as it gives the fish a distinctive perfumed taste which is not nice. Everything else was great. Read less

Just got home from a fantastic stay at The Verandah Resort & Spa. From the start we were welcomed with a beautiful smile at reception by Vinette who was the most efficient and engaging lady. Whilst checking us in (group of 4 pax) we were given cold lemongrass sented towels and welcome rum punch drinks. We were then swiftly taken to our rooms by Ronaldo. On the way to the room Ronaldo gave us a quick tour around the spectacular grounds, pointing out key areas. Unfortunately, we didn't get to visit all of the restaurant & pools as we spent many afternoons/evenings enjoying Antigua's wonderful carnival. However, we did visit the Seabreeze buffet, Sails & Tales, The Beach & Grill, Papa Ricco's Pizzeria & The Wavey Wicker Pub & Café 1761. The food & drinks were very delicious & flavoursome. Although, a bit of constructive feedback is to please stop using the 'complete seasoning' on the fish dishes at the Seabreeze restaurant. It gives the fish a perfume type of taste which is not nice. Other than that, the food there was always chef's kiss!! I loved the vibrant welcome & service we would always get from Theodore, Keisha & Egbert, they are all great assets to the resort & work extremely hard. I loved the Sails & Tales lunch menu, especially the fish soup & prawn salad. Thank you to Kharni & team. We visited the Tranquility Body & Spa & had a wonderful 90 mins massage which included three types of therapy. Thank you to the staff there too! Our rooms were very clean, spacious and supplied with everything we needed. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back very soon. Lastly, a very big thank to all of the grounds, maintenance & beach staff, especially Lorenzo & 'super' Mario. Read less
