This adults-only resort is in an idyllic spot, up on the secluded Northeast coast, featuring a brand new pool on Rasta Beach with amazing views of the ocean, a revitalised lobby and bigger gift shop. Everyone gets a well-appointed, lovely suite with its own oversized, furnished verandah. The rooms are all in single-storey, open-planned suites scattered throughout the beautifully landscaped, 30-acre resort which leads down to two sandy beaches. Natural materials have been used in the suites' classic Caribbean design, with gabled roofs and timber-clad frames. Come together and learn Hobie Cat sailing, enjoy beach volleyball, explore the nature trails of the national park or admire the limestone formations of Devil's Bridge.

Dress code: day time – in the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered and dry. Evening time (after 6:30pm) — the following applies to Seabreeze, Nicole’s and Buccaneers’ restaurants plus Manager cocktail parties. Resort Island Casual — long trousers, stylish jeans, dresses, skirts and dress shorts are permitted. Dress shoes and dress sandals are allowed (no flip flops or tennis shoes in the evening). Short or long-sleeved collared shirts (no T-shirts or tank top/sleeveless shirts).

A USD$350 pre-authorisation will be processed on the credit card at check-in to cover for any incidental purchases or similar expenses. “Verandah February 26”

I recently stayed at the Verandah Resort in Antigua, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The rooms were quite tired and clearly in need of maintenance and repairs. While they were generally clean, the overall condition felt dated and not in keeping with what you might expect from a resort of this type. Throughout the resort, it was clear that several areas were understaffed. This led to long queues at the bars and restaurants, especially during busy times, which became frustrating after a few days. Service could be quite slow as a result. Some of the facilities also looked neglected. The crazy golf area, for example, was particularly run down and scruffy, which made it less appealing to use and gave the impression that parts of the resort are not being properly maintained. The food was acceptable but fairly average overall. Menus tended to be repetitive, and after a few days, the dining options started to feel quite limited. That said, most of the staff were pleasant and friendly, and many clearly did their best despite being stretched thin. However, there were occasional moments where staff came across as a little rude or abrupt, which may have been due to the pressures of being understaffed. Overall, the Verandah Resort has potential given its beautiful Antigua setting, but it currently feels like it needs more investment in maintenance, staffing, and variety in its food offering to deliver the kind of experience guests might expect.

“Great Family Holiday”

I planned a family holiday here for my upcoming retirement. We had 3 rooms near to each other right near the main pool. Rooms were large and comfortable with safe, comfy beds, good aircon and plenty of storage. Main pool a nice size with plenty of loungers available. Also the case at Rasta and Lovers beach. Nice to have alternative locations and leisure activities such as table tennis, pool tables, shuffleboard, tennis and pickleball courts. Food Breakfast buffet, great variety, omelette station etc and themed evenings. Restaurants good, beach grill and Portofino [italian] and Sails and Tails [various options]. Booking was not too challenging although they were not open every day. Drinks always available but no swim up bar or pool service. Bar staff efficient and friendly. Food orders often had some errors but on holiday so not a big deal. Couple of minor issues, being pounced on at arrival to scan a barcode to check in after long haul travel , evening entertainment basic and not great, no ATM on site. Overall though a great time and recommended.

“Birthday celebration; Verandah Style”

This was my first time visiting the island and the resort! All of the excursions we did were amazing! We had the most knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth Tour guides! All of the staff here from bartenders, front desk staff, tours desk staff, servers, house keepers, and maintenance were the friendliest, happiest, and most caring people we’ve ever met! Everyone and everything about this place is phenomenal. I can’t say enough good things. I came to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and it was the most relaxing, new experiences, and fun filled week ever. Everyone was very happy to help make my birthday special as well, plenty of fun drinks crafted and so many passing “happy birthday” wishes. My server for my birthday dinner brought me this beautiful plate for desserts and even sang me the Antiguan version of “happy birthday”. It was a trip to remember. I do however want to give a special shout out to my girl Lassandra! She was taking such good care of my boyfriend and I. Always making sure our cups were filled, hearts happy, and vibes checked to be good. Lassandra was very eager to make sure we were taken care of and even recommended some stuff for my boyfriend and I to branch out and try and nothing fell short of amazing!
