The hotel

Everyday is paradise when you wake up with views of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in the Bahamas. With over 5,000 square miles of beaches, pools, and bars to explore, this is your ultimate destination within a destination. It’s perfect for families, with spacious suites to accommodate you all together, some even with full kitchens for those nights when you want to eat dinner alone on the balcony. The activities on offer are never ending, the water park being the pick of the bunch – and we know you’ll love the slides just as much as the little ones really! There’s also an entertainment centre to keep them occupied, with games, bowling and a movie theatre, so you can relax in the spa or grab a frozen margarita from the beachfront bar and watch the cruise ships coming in and out of Nassau. Make sure you grab a spot at the rooftop bar in time for the sunset, definitely an instagram-able moment.

The hamburger was absolutely delicious. The blackened pasta was too, and the service was exceptional. The first burger we had in paradise. Happiness spreads. Come, relax. You’re on vacation. Oh, and have a margarita too. Ask for a hand shaken, fresh lime, agave….and of course Margaritaville tequila.

Service from Ian was wonderful. The food was delicious and service was quick and pleasant. Restaurant is clean, quiet and well set up for a family meal. This review requires 200 min characters so I'm still typing to try and meet that quota. Thanks.

An honest review from pretty easy-going people who like to travel. Pros - our room was gorgeous and the view was fabulous. The staff at the coffee shop were friendly and wonderful every morning. The gentlemen at the front door were always welcoming and friendly. The waterpark was OK, my grown kids did enjoy using it. The beach (serenity cove) was gorgeous, but read below, we only got to enjoy that for one day. Cons - they emailed me a choice of perks and we elected for early check-in. We arrived at 1 PM and were told our room would be ready in about 20 minutes. This went on for hours and hours. If they were upfront at 1 PM, we would’ve been totally fine and changed our clothes to enjoy the pool. Instead, they kept us waiting until 4:30 PM. No compensation was offered at all. I did not request an early check-in, they offered it. They need more dining options. The dining is extremely limited and the steakhouse is absurdly expensive. You think being in downtown it would be convenient, but everything literally shuts down at 5pm. There is no nightlife to speak of. No shows or music unless one night of karaoke counts. We booked a room in one particular harbor specifically for use of the beach on that side of the resort (serenity cove). The other side of the resort is standing room only with cruise ship passengers. We also noticed the outdoor furniture on the other side of the resort on the beach was old, chipped, tired. Definitely not what you would expect from an upscale resort like Margaritaville. Our second day, the use of that lovely private beach was restricted and not allowed during the remainder of our stay. Supposedly a company rented the beach for a week for its own private use, but we never saw anyone on the beach. No one, person ever. Such a waste and this left a very bad taste in my mouth. When you book one particular Harbor, your consistently told prior to your trip that they are at your disposal, there to help you in anyway to make your stay exceptional etc. I texted a question about a hairdryer in our room and it took three days for someone to reply. That certainly didn’t make it feel like we were receiving exceptional service. There’s a window for food and drinks adjacent to where the waterpark is. It’s a joke. Plan on waiting an hour plus for anything and that’s with just a few people in front of you. I voiced my concern about the above items and a manager did email me claiming he wanted to have a discussion. I replied days and days ago and have not heard back. It leads me to believe that customer service is not their top priority.. Go to Atlantis! Read less

Wanted a casual dinner after walking around town. Our server Ian was very friendly and helped us get just enough food for my wife and I. Would come back if you need something other than fried fish or sushi. Drinks are nice and we split the pasta with andouille sausage. Quiet dining with good tunes.
