The hotel

Everyday is paradise when you wake up with views of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in the Bahamas. With over 5,000 square miles of beaches, pools, and bars to explore, this is your ultimate destination within a destination. It’s perfect for families, with spacious suites to accommodate you all together, some even with full kitchens for those nights when you want to eat dinner alone on the balcony. The activities on offer are never ending, the water park being the pick of the bunch – and we know you’ll love the slides just as much as the little ones really! There’s also an entertainment centre to keep them occupied, with games, bowling and a movie theatre, so you can relax in the spa or grab a frozen margarita from the beachfront bar and watch the cruise ships coming in and out of Nassau. Make sure you grab a spot at the rooftop bar in time for the sunset, definitely an instagram-able moment.

Horrible Experience – Do Not Take This Cruise (0/10) I had one of the worst travel experiences of my life aboard the Margaritaville cruise. From the moment I stepped on the ship, it was disorganized, unsanitary, and the staff was downright rude. • I got stuck in an elevator for five minutes, and when I was finally freed, they handed me a plate of strawberries as if that made up for the anxiety and danger. • The food was nasty, the ship was dirty, and overall, the entire environment felt unclean and unpleasant. • I experienced racial discrimination from a staff member. When I calmly told her I felt I was being profiled, she called security on me, and three guards surrounded me. She even accused me of using the color of my skin to “get something for free” — when all I said was I don’t drink (she offered wine) and already had the internet package she was pushing. • I had booked an excursion that was canceled, and instead of giving me a refund, I was forced to pick a new one and charged extra. • We only got about four hours at the beach. We left the ship around 8:45 AM, didn’t get to the beach until 9:30, and had to be back by 3:30 PM — way less time than promised. • I called customer service after the cruise to report the elevator incident and the discrimination — nothing happened. No apology, no compensation, no accountability. This cruise was unprofessional, poorly run, and completely disrespectful. The crew was rude, dismissive, and discriminatory. I wouldn’t recommend Margaritaville at Sea to anyone. Rating: 0 out of 10. Do not take this cruise. Read less

Our waiter Ian at Vacation Cafe offered us excellent service. A comedy show and dinner, all in one. Thank you for taking good care of me and my family. Truly made our evening that much more memorable. Would highly recommend to any guests to ask for Ian.

We had an amazing experience at the Vacation Home Restaurant at Margaritaville, and a big part of that was thanks to our waiter, Ian. From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, welcoming, and just super easy to talk to. You could tell he actually cared about making sure we had a good time. He gave great recommendations without being pushy, and he really knew the menu well. My friend had some food allergies, and Ian made sure everything was handled properly no stress, no confusion, just smooth service all around. Even though the restaurant was pretty busy, he never made us feel like we were being rushed or forgotten. What stood out most was how natural he was. Nothing felt scripted or forced. He checked in at the right times, made a few jokes that had us laughing, and somehow managed to keep things moving without ever making it feel chaotic. Our food came out perfect, and he made sure we had everything we needed without having to ask twice. You can tell he’s experienced and genuinely enjoys what he does it made the whole vibe of the night so much better. If you ever find yourself at Margaritaville, I seriously recommend asking for Ian. He’s one of those people who makes your meal feel more like a chill experience than just going out to eat. Definitely the best service we’ve had in a while. Thanks again, Ian! Read less

We are most meals there though because it was so convenient and we really liked the food. The resort overall was so nice! Plenty of outdoor spaces to explore and play! The one thing they need to tend to is the music throughout the property - indoors and outdoors. It’s on an island, so Caribbean music seems appropriate. However, much of the time it’s not-great-80s-pop that I don’t recall enjoying when originally released back in the day! Also some country is blended in, with occasional appropriate songs for the environment. Needs attention! Affects the vibe of the whole place. Otherwise, really lovely stay! Read less

The people at Margaritaville Beach Resort are so polite! Our waiter, Ian went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I was very happy to know they had vegan options! That was something I was a bit worried about. We’ll definitely return soon!
