Thank you Bourgainvillea! We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Bourgainvillea Hotel. It is in a great location -for everything and the beach area is large with plenty of loungers. Watersports were available and fresh towels daily. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by all staff and the complimentary rum punches we were amongst the best we sampled! The Hotel is very 'pretty' and atmosphere relaxed with plenty to do should you want it, with an exceptionally friendly staff team. We loved our suite -so spacious for us 4 and well equipped. It was cleaned daily. Particular staff shout outs to all the ladies on reception-Shaneal went the extra mile for us throughout our stay. Special mention to Jose, Erin and Joshua on the bar who were so friendly and kind. We looked forward to seeing them. Everyone also made a fuss of our daughter all week as she celebrated her 20th birthday during our stay! They even called ahead to a restaurant we had booked (unbeknown to us!) to make sure they made fuss of her and gave her a cake! We also enjoyed eating at the Calabash restaurant on our first night and particularly for breakfast everyday. Excellent service and a stunning view. We also used the stunning Deia Beach club next door-pool, bar & restaurant. Highlights of our stay include visiting the beautiful waters of Carlisle Bay (via Savvy on the beach) and an excellent personal tour of the island with Trevor who is part of the Bourgainvillea taxi team. Taxis were available all of the time at the Hotel to nearby places-we went to St Lawrence Gap to bars and restaurants most nights. We also caught the bus just around the corner from the Hotel. Bourgainvillea is a wonderful hotel on a wonderful island full of wonderful people- thank you team Bourgainvillea- we had a dream family holiday! Read less

Good but not great. I want to start off by saying the property itself is beautiful. The beach is stunning and the surrounding greenery frames the grounds like a pretty picture. It’s such a pleasure to walk downstairs from your room and the sandy beach is just a few feet away. But that isn’t to say the time there was as beautiful as the presentation. For the experience, I believe some improvements can be made. The kitchenette is dated and could use some sprucing. As for the Calabash restaurant, although I did love the French toast and had it multiple times, the rest of the menu was average at best. The portions and quality in relation to the prices do not correlate. There’s no reason a full English breakfast shouldn’t cover the plate it’s served on. I feel that if the restaurant improved its offerings and the property introduced an all-inclusive package, the stay would be worth it food-wise. Now for the taxi service. For some reason, the hotel quoted my mother and I $15 USD per-person as a flat rate no matter how far we were traveling. So if you and another person want to go to a restaurant that’s a 5 minute drive (or a 34 minute walk in the tropical sun), you’ll be charged $30 there and back. So that’s $60 USD just to be in the car for approximately 12 minutes total. No including the food you’re looking to order. As far as hospitality, still average. I don’t expect white glove service everywhere I go but, again, average. I’d even say below average. For us to be ready for checkout before 11am just for it to take 25 minutes for a bellhop to come take our carry-ons down to the lobby, and us not knowing that he even arrived once he did come to our room because he didn’t bother to greet us? Just took the bags from the patio and left? Not the warmest experience. I’d definitely visit Barbados again in the future but I wouldn’t be inclined to stay at Bougainvillea. Read less

Multi generational holiday, the mix of pools kept everyone happy. Something for younger children to play in, a swim up bar pool for adults only and a pool to get some lengths in were perfect and of course the ocean is right there to welcome you in. Plenty of sun loungers on the beach and around the pools. The on site restaurant has a provided some delicious meals for us. Kids menu available as well as catering for dietary needs. All freshly cooked so be prepared to chill and wait for the food to arrive. It is well worth the wait. If you have a chance visit the spa for a massage. I think it was one of the best I have ever had. Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return. Read less

The beach did have some sargassum and occasional rough waves, but it didn't prohibit a beautiful view from our balcony or refreshing swim to cool off. The beach staff was helpful in setting up chairs and umbrellas for us, which were plentiful. The nightly music was enjoyable after returning from dinner off-site. The restaurant on-site was very good for breakfast each morning. The resort cats are too cute and very friendly. The only reason I am not giving this review 5/5 is a bartender named Vivian. Maybe we caught him on a bad day, but he was neither friendly or nice. Every other person at the hotel was genuinely happy and kind to us. Read less
