About as ‘seaside’ as you can get, the Blades family have called this sand-hugging spot home for more than four decades. And they chose a pretty perfect beach for their hotel — which is probably why hundreds of Hawksbill marine turtles call it home too. As you’re here for the beach, the Blades have made sure you’re never far from it, whether you’re lazing on the free loungers, watching moonlight movies on the sands, soaking in the seafront pool, sipping frozen cocktails at the beach bar, or lingering over candlelit suppers at Coco's. The beach itself is lined with beautiful trees to provide natural shelter from the Caribbean rays, so those that don't wish to worship the sun need not worry. It’s not just by the beach though — it’s also steps from South Coast Boardwalk which links you to an array of shops, restaurants and Rockley Beach. The hotel also features an open air restaurant overlooking the white sand beach. Above all else, do not forget to savour a Pirate Punch during one of the several 'happy hours' each day — a traditional Blades family recipe with a twist!

“Avoid! Dinosaur in need of customer service training for management”

Avoid if you wish to relax. Someone told us that if you can’t show up to work with a pleasant attitude in the service industry then don’t show up at all. The management need to take note. We loved the workers but there were a Catalogue of more serious issues that they could not resolve without escalating to the managers: including a bed that broke 4 days running. The aircon leaked across the floor into our clothes. A daily ask for hangers was ignored for 5 days. Being charged for things that were included and having to resolve the issue over days. Getting beach towels (the hotel is on the beach) was Farcical. Straight out Of Fawlty towers. Could have dealt with it if the managers didn’t have the audacity to question the validity of the issues. And then ask us to download a QR code to check all the fine print. Staff had to back us up to concur that our asks about each issue were legit. It got tiresome We booked for 14 nights at great expense. I blame the private owners who need to ensure clear comms and better attitudes and customer service. New venues are cropping up locally that will have equal beach views and access but will surpass this dinosaur with top notch service and professionalism. And towels. “A Beautiful Disappointment”

This family run hotel has high points and low points. The location is superb, fronting a beautiful palm-lined sandy beach with lots of beach lounges. The pool area is also a highlight, with pretty blue umbrellas, lounges, and a swimmable pool. There are good restaurants and a beach bar. There is no elevator but our third-floor rooms had a magnificent view. Most rooms have a large balcony facing the great view, perfect for a sunset toast. The rooms are large and clean, but a bit dated. There is a small kitchenette, although some utensils were broken. The bathroom is small and needs updating. There were no tissues in the room! The bath towels are the softest and fluffiest I have ever seen! Unfortunately during our stay we never had hot water in our bathroom. This was reported on our first day and we were told it would be repaired. The story was repeated each day (6 night stay). Only on our last day were we offered a room change. Too little, too late. We never got an explanation! After checkout we had our first hot showers in the complementary changing room! Generally the staff were friendly and helpful, but they ignored our “hot water” issue during our entire stay. This kind of service is unacceptable in a hotel of this class!

Excellent hotel in ideal position on the beach. Easy to get around Barbados on the buses from outside. Rooms have microwave kettle and toaster ideal for room only basis.
