“best place to stay in Barbados”

This is, most assuredly, the best place to stay in Barbados. You have everything you need, and then some. At the optimal level of quality (without any of that excessive, superficial, tacky and gross «luxury» of some other places - which should make uncomfortable any serious person, who is not disconnected from the basic realities of life in this world - ). The prices (for the rooms and for any food or beverages that you purchase and savour on the premises) are decent, fair and honest. The rooms are spacious, clean, well ventilated, well-equipped, quiet, cozy and comfortable. The access to the beach - on the other side of the narrow road - is totally satisfactory. It would be just nonsense to pay more money in order to stay in a hotel with an «immediate» access to a beach. And there are numerous other, close-by beaches, each with their particularities, that you can visit and enjoy at tour leisure. Everything is very clean. Well managed, efficiently operated, diligently maintained Beautiful terrasses. One is situated on the level of the pool and the gym. The other one is at the ground level, and it is truly extraordinary. These areas, with the excellent services that they provide, are the «resort» elements of this hotel. The breakfast is excellent (not wasteful; which makes it more tasty and respectable). All day long, you can purchase delicious drinks and meals from the bar-diner. And there is a very good restaurant, with indoor and outdoor tables, in the immediate vicinity. But perhaps most importantly: smiles. Smiling, shining faces are everywhere, all the time, in this very hospitable hotel. Even though the staff is obviously working very hard (it is a big operation, and some guests could be often difficult), they will never show it to you, and at all times, they will do their best to make sure that you are content, happy to be there. Each and every one of them personifies the innate kindness and warmth, the authentic sense of hospitality, the deep humaneness, which characterize the population of the wonderful country of Barbados. “Excellent location - poor service”

I’ve been a loyal Marriott guest for 20+ years and never had to wait on line for 20 minutes to check into a hotel until I arrived here. The property is conveniently located in Bridgetown, but is lacking adequate staff and/or training. In addition to the poor reception upon arrival, we found the restaurant staff to be completely inadequate. After being seated for breakfast by the delightful hostess, we waited more than 15 minutes for a server. We asked for coffee to start, waited another 10 minutes to get served, and she never returned to take our order. If you need a place to stay in Bridgetown, there are many better options to consider.

We spent two nights at the Courtyard by Marriott in Bridgetown before a cruise. We had a balcony room on the 2nd floor right near the pool. The room itself was clean and very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower could have been stronger, but it got the job done. Cute little beach across the street. We had absolutely outstanding service in the on site restaurant/bar. Our server, Temesha, was particularly lovely and even introduced us to some other people who were going on our cruise! The hotel offers a free shuttle on weekends to nearby Carlisle Bay (one of the most gorgeous beaches you'll ever see), either to Harbour Lights club or The Boatyard. We've been to Harbour Lights several times and were happy to return, so that was a lovely way to spend the day before our cruise. Since we were there on a Friday, it was suggested that we go to the fish fry at Oistins fish market. We arranged a taxi directly through the hotel (there is a desk in the lobby), to take us there and come back for us. Our driver, Daniel, was fantastic and even took us on a walking tour of the market and pointed out his favourite places to eat there. All told, our stay at the Courtyard was a great start to our cruise. Absolutely will stay again when we're in Barbados!
