Mango Bay is in a great location on a beautiful beach on the west coast. We love it because it's a small, friendly hotel that exudes bajan charm. From outside dining under the stars to traditional English afternoon tea, this hotel is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. The restaurants, bars and boutiques of fashionable Holetown St. James, along with the Limegrove Lifestyle complex, are just footsteps away - and the complimentary catamaran cruise allows you to explore even more that the island has to offer.

67 air-conditioned rooms on 4 floors in 2 buildings, 1 with lift. Standard Rooms are located in the standard block and situated over 4 floors. All Standard Rooms have a balcony or terrace overlooking the front of the hotel or gardens, bathroom with walk-in shower, cable TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe and hairdryer. There is no lift in this block. Rooms have 1 king-size bed (twin beds on request) and sleep maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child (with rollaway bed). These rooms are at the edge of the property and may experience noise from the local bars and restaurants.All Inclusive of: Full Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, and Dinner. Snack menu 11am -4pm daily. All drinks, including house wine with meals. Exceptions are champagne, prosecco, speciality wines and bottled water. Complimentary water sports include water skiing, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, paddle boards, snorkelling, and one Catamaran Cruise per guest per stay.

Julien's Restaurant, an elegant, non-smoking, beachside restaurant serves an International buffet (two nights per week) and table d'hôte selection (five nights per week). The Bar is open 10:00am-midnight daily. Barbecue night once a week. Snack menu available 10:00am - 4:00pm. Daily afternoon tea.

Dress code: Julians Restaurant (year round), the evening dress code is smart casual which means that gentlemen may wear smart tailored dress shorts and short sleeved shirts (polo shirts are allowed), please note that no sports replica shirts or club branded merchandise are allowed at dinner. Smart jeans are allowed. No flip flops or trainers are allowed in the evening in the restaurant. Cover-ups are required in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch and footwear is required in the restaurant at all times.

Please note: although the dress code has been relaxed at this hotel, there may still be some occasions at the hotel and on the island where long trousers and shirt sleeves will be more appropriate or compulsory for gentlemen, so it is highly recommended to still pack some.

Stayed mango bay 11 nights lovely hotel beach was lovely but downside there was a bit of drop into sea like a ledge found it hard to get out also there was jet ski most days which was bit annoying. I did feel it is aimed at older people over 55 and upwards and is quiet if you want busy lively this is not a ideal hotel for you. Room was lovely room 105 direct access into pool if you wanted it which was ideal. As there was only one restaurant meal times were set but it was ok. Some nice shops nearby and it was safe to walk out the people were friendly. We did some lovely trips and enjoyed steam train St Nicholas Abbey trip. Also did a lovely catamran cruise and tour. The island was lovely and we will return some day.

AsNot a 4 star first thing when we arrived given a paper telling you what you could wear. PLEASE READ THEIR WEB .The food was very poor mostly lamb stew in barbados .It was like going to school the only good thing was isabel she is top class

“In need of some TLC”

We actually visited this hotel two years ago when staying somewhere else in Barbados and loved the location ,so when an offer came up on Kenwood travel in January 2006 we booked it, we had seen the mixed reviews and new the Royalton would be open by then but because of the location we decided it was worth a try. We booked a superior room but when we arrived it wasn't ready so they gave us upgrad us to a beach front room ,it was actually a lovely room if not a little tired/tattie but unfortunately after 2 days we had a water leak coming from the bathroom above so we reported it to reception who said they'd get maintenance to look at it, it was repaired but it failed again after two days so on day 6 of our holiday when it started leaking again they decided to move us and upgrade us again, this time to the penthouse whitch was a really lovely room/suit but still very tired and in need of some TLC ,and that pretty much sums up much of Mango bay actually in need of some TLC. We didn't use the pool area( because we'd rather be on a beach) it was quite small and again a bit tattie/tired but the garden areas were very well looked after. Breakfast was always excellent but lunch and evening meals were a little hit and miss, sometimes some of the best we've had in the caribbean and sometimes quite poor. There were a couple of bbq/buffet nights that were a nice change but definitely not a 4 star standard . Most of the waiters and waitresses were fabulous one or two perhaps in need of a bit of retraining. Bar staff we'er excellent ,we never had a problem with any of them but a special mention for Ronald, Dale and Brittany who were fabulous also special mention has go to the lads that look after the sun beds and umbrellas and organise the water sports they work so hard . The beach that Mango bay is on has changed dramatically with the opening of the Royalton next door since our last visit to Barbados(it's absolutely massive)it was once so peaceful but not anymore you can hear the entertainment staff shouting through there microphones and there music banging out from the Royalton it has attracted lots of jet ski's and party boats all playing different music and it just ends up being a big noise,we spent most of our days on different beaches trying to find some peace and quiet but I'm sure the youger set would enjoy it.
