The hotel

This adults-only, all-inclusive resort is perfect for a relaxing holiday in the Barbados sun. Situated on the west coast, The Club overlooks the Caribbean sea and is a friendly place to while away sunny afternoons with a good book and a refreshing drink. Tucked away, there’s a split-level swimming pool and a full-service spa offering couples massages, aromatherapy salt scrubs and body wraps. Or build up an appetite for dinner by a game of tennis or enjoy a guided morning walk. The two restaurants will tempt you to dine in-house, but lively Bridgetown is just a short drive away and well worth exploring too. I last visited this hotel 19 and 20 years ago so the gardens have matured beautifully and are well tended. It’s true as others mention it’s a bit tired but all areas kept clean a daily maid service and clean towels. Beach towels provided, from water sports where everything is included, and the staff amazing. The kitchen and restaurant staff are fabulous every meal was outstanding and plentiful. The only reason we didn’t gain weight was availability of the water sports to keep us active. The beach bar had some great characters serving and all generous with real undiluted spirits. Our favourites were anything with rum, that just has to be done! We are both 67+ and this was our honeymoon. Our room was decorated with petals, heart balloons a fruit platter and a bottle of Prosecco a lovely gift and arranged I believe by Virgin who we booked through. We made many friends whilst there as the entertainment is fabulous too. I could write many more glowing remarks but suffice to say it was memorable and the snorkelling was like finding Nemo! We are home for 5 days now and planning a return visit… it’s not 5 star rated but everyone we encountered gave us a 5 star service. I hope all of the staff read this and know how much we appreciate you. Lots of love Linda and Adrian Read less

I received almost no instruction, no waiver, and was sent into high-tide waters without supervision. We got stranded and panicked no staff came to help. Back on shore, we were blamed instead of supported. The resort was also not clean my room and public areas were poorly maintained. Some staff were kind, but others were dismissive. Guest clerk CathyAnn was rude, unhelpful, and tried to blame me when issues arose from their own failings. When I asked management for compensation, I was given vague apologies and excuses. I booked through their official number, yet was told they couldn’t help because it was “the U.S. office.” I left emotionally shaken and deeply disappointed. I would not recommend this resort to anyone who values safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. Read less

The all-inclusive s' we stay at before water downed the liquor. Not at Club Barbados where the liquor flows freely: If anything you have to tell the bar tenders to stop putting in so much. The only flaw: I scratched my leg on a chipped table. It kept bleeding as we walked to the front to report the table. After doing so I asked to see a first aid kit. I was told they don't have them. They have AEDs which is a good thing. Read less

Great to get a bus just outside to Bridgetown and speightown. Staff could have smiled a bit more in restaurant found them a little downbeat, food was OK, Have to mention 2 staff "Handsome" Mark the gardener he was extremely pleasant when ever you bumped into him and gave us a few laughs during our stay Also didn't get her name but the lady who did morning walks, she was always friendly and helpful when ever I saw her, needs more staff around like them that actually looks and sound like they want to be there and make your stay enjoyable!!! We found it overall OK, manager made herself available and seen so if you have any major concerns she's very approachable thankfully we didn't need to. Read less
