Just returned from another amazing holiday at The Club Barbados. Had the most fabulous time. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to help. Caroline greeted me every morning to check all was ok and would rectify any problems efficiently. Mia in Dining arranged for me to try my first fish cutter, Marcia love you, Kieron helped to get TV on so my husband could watch the football, Trevon made the pool sparkle and was so helpful, Vinnie, Sophia and Kevin in the Bars were amazing and Sophia even gave me her mosquito repellant. There are so many more that were so wonderful but I don’t know their names. The food was so good and varied. The drinks were perfectly made and a wide variety of premium drinks were available (except Malibu for my daughter ). The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day and new towels left. There were plenty of sun beds and the water sports team were so helpfulThis hotel is the best. I may be a bit bias as we did get married there 2 years ago but I don’t want to go anywhere else. The Club and Barbados have my heart. We are already planning our holiday to return next year. I booked 2 x 1 bedroom ocean view suites and emailed the General Manager Caroline before we arrived to ask that we have a proper balcony as a lot of the rooms have Juliette balconies and was assured by Caroline that my request had been sent to reservations. On arrival we were allocated 2 rooms that the living room is completely open plan with no balcony doors, no air con and the room was extremely hot and had loads of mosquitos so was basically un useable to be able to sit in to relax or use as a work area as my husband required. We went straight to reception and said that this was not what we had requested and they told us that they couldn't do anything until the next day. We went back the following morning and spoke to Jennifer who agreed to move both rooms to the enclosed living rooms with a proper balcony and air con however they then told us later on that we would have to wait until the following day to change the 2nd room and to go back to see Jennifer at 12 midday the following day which we did but after waiting for 30 minutes while the reception staff tried to find her we were then told she was on lunch and that she would come and find us. After waiting all day nobody came to find us and we eventually found Jennifer who said that we could move to a ground floor but the room offered was on the ground floor on a walk way and had multiple air con units on the sitting area and no balcony so we were told to go back at 9am the following day and they would move us to a first floor room. While having breakfast the following day the General Manager Caroline came to see and was frankly quite dismissive of our requests and when I said that the room was full of mosquitos she told us in a very patronising way that she didn't realise that mosquitos could fly to the 1st floor! which I can assure you Caroline they definitely can as my bites prove it!! However she did agree that we could be moved and that Jennifer would arrange this so we then went back to see Jennifer and she wouldn't even come to reception and told the staff on reception to offer us the same ground floor room that we had refused. After 4 days of living out of suitcases as we were told we would be moved and going back and forth to reception multiple times and no one coming to let us know what was happening we gave up as had spent so much time of our holiday trying to sort the situation out but was basically treated like we were a nuisance and ignored. I have never stayed at a hotel where you have an open air living room absolutely ridiculous and un useable with no air con. Not impressed with Caroline or Jennifer as they seem to have the same couldn't care attitude as does most of the reception staff when you ask for anything and don't bother emailing requests beforehand as these are ignored. Only provided with 4 bottles of water and even though the rooms had a fridge when we asked for more water we were told that they only give 4 bottles for the whole stay and if we wanted the fridge stocked we would have to pay! Absolutely ridiculous in an all inclusive hotel. I did ask to have my room sprayed as there were so many mosquitos but again told that they do not provide any plug in mosquito repellant or spray the rooms so to go and buy our own. The plumbing is atrocious when you use the sink the water comes out in the bath and toilet didn't flush properly even though this was reported it was never fixed. Very run down and tired. Half of the staff are really helpful but the other half can't be bothered and I think this is because that's how the management treat the guests. Water sport guys were really helpful however even though they have a speedboat they have not used it for water skiing etc since covid so it's a bit disappointing when they have the facilities to offer this but don't. The food was good however a lot of the same things served and even though they advertise 3 restaurants 1 is only open every other night and the 3rd one is a beach menu so not really a restaurant as you eat on the beach or in the bar area. Overall we will not return due to the attitude of the management and the lack of customer service, I think Caroline especially needs to go on a customer service course to learn how to treat your paying guests!!
