I read alot of reviews before arriving & will confess that I considered swapping to another resort, due to the amount of negative reviews, rangi g from accommodation quality of towels & attitude of some staff but decided to stick with my choice.
Upon arrival, check in was quick and efficient & staff were friendly. The gentleman who showed us to our room was really friendly and helpful.
We had a Superior Oceanfront room, your patio doors opened onto a patio and then a sandy area, you woke up to the sound of waves. The room was large, as was the bathroom and we experienced no issue with the quality of towels. 😁. Our room could have been cleaned everyday, but a few times we told Natalie not to bother, as it was still clean. She was very friendly.
Ladies at the beach bar were friendly and very efficient, as was Clive at the Sunset bar, always welcomed you with a smile.
Sunset restaurant, majority of the staff were friendly, all were efficient at topping up your water and checking if you wanted a drink, Kevin was excellent at this.
Good variety of food, always replenished if it was buffet night. My only suggestion re buffet nights was the salad selection, I would change the containers that had plastic tops, as when you came to choose your salad, tomato's etc, you had very limited space to balance the lids, (small poubt, but you'll understand what I mean when you go).
Non-buffet nights, food was also excellent.
As another reviewers mentioned, I'd put chair leg covers on, as the noise from people standing up when moving from the table is very noisy, and repetitive throughout your meal. Imagine nails down a blackboard.
Ends, we only went once, we arrived on time at 6.30, to be told we aren't ready yet, so we sat outside in the bar area, the lady then came out & said are you eating with us tonight, well yes, that's why we tried to walk into the restaurant. Young male waiter, very friendly.
Girls at coffee station weren't friendly, you'd say, morning, please & thank you and barely get a look.
Girls at the food truck, friendly and efficient.
The young lads who sorted the beach beds, swept the beach area everyday, were so polite, friendly and very conscientious.
Caroline the manager is very friendly and is visual every day, always asks how your holiday is going and genuinely wants to know.
Overall I can understand why some people thought the staff were offish, quite a few seem bored in their roles and didnt seem warm or friendly, no matter how polite and friendly you were. But there are alot of standout staff.
Would I recommend the resort, yes, would I revisit, yes. Very relaxing, very clean, alot of people go back year after year, so they must be doing something right.
