Garden View Rooms are located on floors ground to fourth, with either a panoramic window (4th floor only), balcony or patio, and either 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

All Inclusive of: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner daily, all drinks by the glass, bottled water is not included. All activities and entertainment unless otherwise stated.

Dress code: during the day, resort casual wear is perfect for dining by the sea. Shoes must be worn, bathing suits must be covered and men are required to wear shirts with short sleeves in all restaurants. In the evenings, casually elegant attire is requested including slacks or stylish jeans or tailored shorts; dresses, skirts. Please, no cut-off t-shirts, shorts or flip-flops for evening dining.

“A disappointing experience.”

A disappointing experience. Starting with the food, the evening services were incredibly slow - with a 2 hour service being the norm, on nights when the food was à la carte, as opposed to buffet. The WiFi was also inoperable for a number of days, with the fault being blamed on the outside internet service provider. In all this time, no real communication was made as to when this WiFi would be fixed, nor was there any indication as to what remedial steps were being taken to mitigate against this. The music in the evenings was also very loud, and did not finish until 11pm, which meant those in a pool-facing room were subject to this music, nightly, which was certainly audible through the patio doors of the room. So for those who sleep lightly, this alone would reason enough not to stay at this resort. Each morning, it was also visible that a number of people were complaining to the manager, around the breakfast area, about various things not going well around the resort. Having made a number of complaints ourself, during our time at the resort, to this manager, it was our opinion that this manager's efforts to resolve these complaints often felt ineffectual. To be fair, a number of the staff present at the resort were lovely, and friendly. So they cannot be faulted! However, and tying back to the lack of service, it felt at times that there was not enough staff around the resort, to cater for everyone correctly. It also felt at times that the food and drink was not being properly stocked - with diet coke running out on a number of days whilst we there, for example. On the food front too, you must avoid this resort if you are coeliac. No efforts whatsoever are made to ensure gluten-free equipment is kept separate from gluten-contacting equipment. Guests readily mix tongs amongst the various different food choices. The food itself is also very, very, rich, and inappropriately catered for those who are coeliac, or for those who are on Mounjaro. In all, the stay felt disappointing - we would not go back, noting the price we paid for the stay. We have stayed in much nicer places, for a lot less money, very sadly to say!

“Fabulous, relaxing with good food, drinks and great people”

We had a fabulous 10 day stay here. Staff were very welcoming and our sea front room was amazing- the Caribbean sea literally on our doorstep. Good was good and lots of choice. The drinks were great and staff was attentive. Entertainment was available on most evening but we tended to sit in the beach front bar where it was quieter and very relaxing. There’s good access to the sea and although there’s isn’t a sweeping beach, there’s lots of beaches within walking distance- the one we found was 5 mins walk and empty! Loads of sun loungers and if you are sociable then round the pool is for you, but we like quieter days so we chose to be in the gardens, but with access to the pool. We had scuba diving arranged through the sports club, Bryan was very helpful- High Tide diving were fantastic. We also had a massage in the spa which was wonderful. Yes, there are some external areas that need a touch of paint and there is some noise from the a/c units BUT it’s a humid tropical country and overall it’s a well tended wonderful place.

“Disappointing this time sadly”

Having visited Barbados and this hotel many times before our visit this time left us disappointed . The location is great, near to the Chattel houses and various eateries like Tides ( fine dining treat) Surf side ( beach bar) etc. Duty free shop across the road is great for essentials to diamonds . Beautiful sunsets from our balcony were a highlight. The hotel was quiet when we arrived and tired we just wanted to eat and go to bed, the restaurant served a la carte that night but it took ages to get served a drink and was hard to stay awake to wait for the meal. We thought that it was just a one off but sadly we experienced a very hit and miss service from the staff all holiday . Just getting offered a drink at lunch or dinner was on many occasions a waiting game. It seemed like the once great customer service that this hotel was renowned for has disappeared. As the hotel filled up during our holiday our experience of customer service remained poor. Not all waiters/ waitresses were stressed though . Praise has to go to Germaine and Darius who were great, hard working and always at work it seemed. Not sure what’s happening with the staff but they seem to work extremely long hours. The rooms are getting tired now, in need of an update. We had a sea view room which was lovely but the patio doors were hard to open plus the wardrobe doors kept coming out of their tracks and proved difficult to move. Food choices are still good and varied with a couple of nights per week a buffet . Quality of food ranges from ok to very good but hit and miss unlike recent years when quality was very good most of the time. Enid’s the Bajan restaurant seemed to have an issue with serving tables in order of people arriving on our first visit as we waited an age it seemed while others who booked later than we did got served way before we did. Not a problem usually but it became tedious. On our second visit a few days later this problem had been dealt with and the service was much better. Ladies in Enid’s very friendly. Despite plentiful sun beds when the hotel is full unless you are up very early it can be a scramble to get a bed at all never mind where you’d like to sit. Some of the mattresses on the beds need replacing. Cleanliness is very good here. Unfortunately the beach bar roof was being repaired for most of our stay as was the hand rail on the steps leading to the sea so neither were in use until 4 days before we came home. We weren’t informed of this prior to our arrival. Caroline the manager is a warm friendly and approachable lady who is eager to engage with clientele and listens to concerns acting on them in a timely manner too. The grounds of the hotel are kept well and tidy at all times. Overall value for money is fair but we paid less than most due to me getting travel discounts due to my previous job. If we’d paid as much as some people I would be making a complaint about various aspects of our holiday. Considering Barbados is a premium destination and for many people a once in a life time visit the owners need to look at making improvements across the board to not only give visitors value for money but the warm Bajan experience Barbados is known for .
