The hotel

This chic hotel is reputed to have some of the friendliest staff on the island! It's also located across the road from St. Lawrence Bay where the waters are exceptionally shallow at low tide — enabling you to safely walk miles into the ocean (you might see some turtles along the way!). There’s a lovely restaurant on-site or you can head round the corner to the centre of St. Lawrence Gap for some lively nightlife. Refurbished studio rooms have large balconies offering stunning views, a kitchenette and complimentary WiFi.

The rooms were cleaned daily and coffee tea provided in generous amounts . The reception team were friendly and very helpful for information and booking excursions should you require. The pool area is bejou but well kept , we always managed to get a bed as they have a 30 minute rule for unoccupied beds (stops the towels being left all day) We would definitely recommend this hotel for an all round great holiday thanks to all the lovely staff . We will be back . Rebecca and Gary Read less

Staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxed stay. Rooms were spotless and contained everything we needed. The view from our room was beautiful. The food was delicious. And it was lovely to sit in the restaurant with a pool and sea view. We had such a good time we plan on going back. Highly recommended.

If you want to stay in the St. Lawrence Gap in Barbados, you can't beat the Yellow Bird Hotel. Every room has a guaranteed amazing ocean view. You are within a 20-minute walking distance of restaurants, bars, night clubs, a bank ATM, 3 convenience stores, a supermarket and two beaches. Just steps away are three excellent restaurants: Primo (highly recommended for a sunset dinner), Castaways, and Cafe Sol (great choice for lunch or to celebrate a birthday). The hotel restaurant, On the Bay, is also a fine restaurant, conveniently open all day from breakfast to dinner, with delicious food (try the Full Bajan Breakfast, Bajan Flying Fish Cutter, and Bajan Fish Cakes), professional service, and a full bar serving delicious cocktails with local rums and local beers. As a hotel guest, you can charge drinks and meals to your room. I stayed in the Premium Ocean View room on the top floor--highly recommended for the best views you can get from the hotel. The room itself is a great value: a big private balcony with table and two chairs, king size bed, kitchenette (full-size refrigerator, sink, oven stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and all the utensils and dish ware you might need), big bathroom with walk-in shower, work desk, fast wifi, a big couch, big flat screen TV, two closets with plenty of hangers, and more than enough drawer space. There is a nice pool with shaded lounge chairs. Daily housekeeping service. And very friendly staff. In short, I've never stayed at at a small hotel with so many advantages and amenities, especially for the price. Read less

The location is very good, right at the start of The Gap, and close to several restaurants, bars and a short walk to Dover beach. The restaurant at the hotel serves a varied breakfast and dinner menu and the food was excellent and good value. Yes, there is some noise from the nearby bars, but not enough to keep us awake. An excellent hotel and we would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Thank you to everyone at he hotel for our stay. Mike & Jackie Read less
