I absolutely loved my stay ❤️❤️❤️ LOCATION: Mount Cinnamon is a mid-size resort located at the southern end of Grand Anse Beach. It boasts a Mediterranean aesthetic with lovely suites and villas that sit atop the hillside just steps from the beach. Walking distance from nearby BBC Beach. 15 min rides from most all other popular locales on the island.
ROOMS: I had a Cinnamon Suite on the second level. When I walked in and saw the view through my wall of windows, I was blown away. It was a full panoramic view of Grand Anse and St Georges... sea to the mountains. I was speechless. The room itself was spacious, clean, with beautiful decor. I had a balcony, living room, large bathroom with shower, wet bar and mini fridge, and the most comfortable king sized bed. All rooms are up on the hill, so be prepared to get a glute workout 🙂 If you have mobility issues, no worries. There are shuttles available in minutes to pick you up from your room and take you around the property.
BEACH: Clean, quiet, no seaweed, not too rocky. No peddlers. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Can easily walk on beach from Mount Cinnamon all of the way to Grand Anse Market. Snorkeling and paddle boats were available, but I didn't try them.
POOL/SPA: Pool is pretty, but small. Due to the rainy season, it was hard to keep clean. The Spa space itself is underwhelming... no frills. However, the deep tissue massage I received was superb!
FOOD: I've traveled many places and usually resort food is bland to not offend international guests. Not Mount Cinnamon. Every meal - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - was top notch and flavorful. At breakfast (included with your stay), you have your choice of a warm entree (omelet, pancakes, English breakfast waffles, etc.) plus the buffet which has pastries, breads, fruit, cereals, and yogurt. The fresh fruit juice was delightful. Lunch is available at their beachside cabana restaurant, and the roti is a must try! Dinner at the hotel restaurant, Flying Fish, was divine... I tried the steak one night and the seafood curry another. The local seasonings and cooking style are delectable, but that's to be expected on the Spice Isle! Zero notes!
ENTERTAINMENT: Mount Cinnamon hosts a weekly social hour, special bonfire dinner, and a live pianist. The social hour was the perfect way for solo travelers and others to connect together and engage with the staff. The Bonfire Dinner was nice... it was set on the beach with a singer to set the island vibes. And, the local pianist was a nice elegant touch.
STAFF: The only word that comes to mind is family. I traveled solo to Grenada and EVERY SINGLE person I encountered was warm, genuine, and kind. Management went out of their way to make me feel welcomed. There are too many to name so I won't, because I don't want to forget anyone!
Honestly, this was the energy everywhere I went in Grenada. And, that's why I plan to return soon and when I do, I'll absolutely stay at Mount Cinnamon 🫶🏾
