Truly a wonderful resort! We vacationed for seven days in October 2026 in a Rondoval Butler Suite, room 4108. Here are the details I hope others can benefit from.
Getting there and check-in
A huge bonus is that the airport is only five minutes away. We landed, got through customs and immigration, grabbed our bags, and headed to the Sandals stand. A nice, cool, air-conditioned van quickly took the six of us who arrived at the same time to the resort.
We were greeted by the staff and butlers with a wonderful welcome song and cool towels, then whisked off to the Club Room for an easy check-in. We met two of our butlers right away. They greeted us with warm smiles, hugs, and a big “WELCOME HOME.” I knew right away we would love them.
There was a slight mix-up with our room. We had booked a Rondoval, but they were trying to “upgrade” us to the Penthouse Sky Suite with an infinity pool. I admit the room was lovely, spacious, and had gorgeous ocean views, but I had my heart set on the Rondoval. I knew the Sky Suite pools didn’t get much sun, and I prefer the extra space of the Rondoval’s backyard courtyard. They graciously let us use the Sky Suite for the next hour while they prepared our Rondoval. Our butler Wavel came to get us, topped off our champagne, and walked us over to our beautiful Rondoval.
Our Rondoval and butler team
The Rondovals have recently been refreshed, and they are gorgeous! Our room was stocked perfectly. The level of detail from the butler staff was amazing: all of my requests were there, and then some. We never ran out of anything we asked for. A huge shoutout to our butler team, housekeeping, and the minibar attendants. The room was cleaned and restocked daily, and we always had plenty of ice, water, and refreshments, along with the champagne I wanted stocked at all times. They even went above and beyond to find me a bottle of Aperol for my daily Aperol spritzes after the beach and while getting ready for dinner.
The Rondoval pool was the perfect temperature. In late October, we had full morning sun until about 1 p.m., when it started to get shady. Two floats were already there, so we never had to worry about that. The pool maintenance team came by daily to clean it and checked the chemical levels once during our week. It was perfect!
Our butlers were Wavel, Randell, and Glendon. Seriously, the best team! Glendon had a minor emergency that kept him away for most of our stay, but I can’t say enough great things about Wavel and Randell. They are the nicest, most genuine guys and went above and beyond. We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary, and from sunrise to bedtime, we were overwhelmed by their thoughtfulness, surprises, and the special moments they created throughout the day.
And it wasn’t just our anniversary. They would show up at seemingly random, but perfect, times to bring us treats and drinks. They always secured great beach seats for us with a stocked cooler, and no request was too much. They also made sure our dinner reservations, spa reservations, and tours were booked without any issues. I looked forward to seeing them every day. After talking with several other guests, I’d say we had the best team. Many others didn’t have a great butler experience, and I encouraged them to communicate directly about what they wanted. Remember, they’re not mind readers, though I swear Wavel and Randell were. They figured out my husband and me instantly. Seriously, request these guys. They were a huge reason we had such a great week. Thank you, Wavel and Randell, for making our trip so special. You two are amazing!
The resort, pools, and beach
The resort is gorgeous. It’s smaller than many of the others we’ve visited, more of a boutique-resort feel, but it was fabulous. Nothing was more than a five-to-eight-minute walk away. The grounds are beautiful, and the landscapers were always hard at work keeping everything lovely and tidy.
If I had one thing I didn’t particularly love, it was the pools. The main party pool was always busy and loud. I’m an early riser, and people were out at 6 a.m. claiming their pool chairs, as were the butlers. It’s a beautiful pool with plenty of chairs. There’s also a smaller quiet pool closer to the beach, but sadly, it doesn’t have many chairs. We saw plenty of Sandals pool rafts, and I didn’t hear many complaints about that.
The beach is small but absolutely dreamy. Man-made jetties flank the resort and keep the water calm 99% of the time. Bring or pack an inexpensive float. We did, and it was wonderful to sit or lie on it and relax for hours. Bring plenty of sunscreen, too. The UV rays are very strong and caught many people by surprise.
The beach is public, so you will encounter some vendors. We spoke with most of them, and they were very nice. If you politely declined, they respected that. Do note, though, that many will spot the butler coolers and come over to ask for beers or water. That might be my only complaint about the beach.
Restaurants and entertainment
Our two favorites, in order, were Butch’s Steakhouse, where we ate twice, followed by the French restaurant and then the Italian restaurant. We also enjoyed Soy, the sushi place, and Kimonos for a fun hibachi experience. We had dinner at Neptune’s one night. Perhaps it was what we ordered, but it was probably our least favorite. Lunch from Neptune’s was always delicious, especially when our butlers delivered it to our beach chairs.
The pizza place is hopping at lunch, and the pizza is very tasty. We preferred the breakfast buffet at the Italian restaurant. Definitely try the jerk chicken for lunch. I had it three days because it was so good! And the lamb chops at the steakhouse were honestly some of the best I’ve had, even compared with some of the finest restaurants in the country. All of our steaks across the resort were excellent and cooked to perfection.
A shoutout to the entertainment crew, too. They were always planning and doing something fun all day and into the evening. You can tell they take great pride in what they do. Every person we encountered was genuinely happy and wanted to make sure we were having a great vacation.
All in all, we loved this resort. It was a phenomenal five-star experience, and we’ll return soon. Before we left, we booked our next trip to Sandals Saint Vincent in March, and I’ll be sure to compare the two. We’ve also visited the Bahamas, Sandals Grande St. Lucia, Sandals Grande Antigua, and Barbados. Grenada and Grande St. Lucia are our top two so far.
