Loved every minute here, a hotel is only as good as the people who work there and EVERYONE was so warm, friendly and genuine. Grounds, room, spa, food, all lovely. I took some time to reflect before posting this review, including to another luxury property on a similar island. Having been to more than 20 of the top resorts, including Four Seasons, Rosewood, and Mandarin, I can say with great confidence there is something very wrong with this place--especially if you come to the Caribbean for the iconic crystal clear ocean. Before I go any further, let me stipulate that the staff was amazing and attentive; the rooms are gorgeous; the food is above-average; the spa is lovely; all and all, the hotel property is indeed quite special. They have lovely extras like cooking classes and a fresh ice cream shop and we had a lot of fun. BUT. BUT BUT: the beach itself is a horror show. Set on an inlet, in brakish water, it's rimmed with trash (why no one could clean it boggles the mind) and bracketed by an unfinished construction site and noise (of which we were not informed). There are people living along it. Apparently, its at the mouth of a river and as such the water is murky and doesn't seem clean. It was a total turn off and buzz kill. There's another smaller beach, but the surf was so rough the hotel staff forbade us from swimming. The point is: the images on the web site are NOT THE ACTUAL REALITY. I've never experienced such a disconnect. So...Buyer beware. It's not the staff's fault and we would hate to see them suffer. It's the management and ownership. I wrote to the CEO on LinkedIn but never heard back. Ideally, this was a fluke but please check before you go. Read less

I stayed at the Six Senses for 4 nights and was not disappointed! The hotel is beautiful and the service is top notch. Here’s what I loved.. - Gorgeous and spacious rooms. All have their own private plunge pool and the free goodies in the mini bar and welcome snacks. And the views are incredible. - Daily activities. I loved having a set of activities to choose from during my stay. I did daily am workout classes and often was the only person signed up so basically felt like I got free personal training sessions (Sandeep is fabulous!). I also did kayaking and cycling which was really fun (again I was the only one who signed up) - Gym and spa. Got 2 massages that were fantastic and the spa area is really nice. - Incredible staff - everyone was so friendly and helpful! If I had any feedback, here’s what it would be (although not necessarily specific to the hotel). - The construction next door is real, but it didn’t bother me. I actually think once the Intercontinental is done it will be really nice to have another hotel next door with more people/ restaurant options. I think the beach will also clean up more when that is done. - There are 2 restaurants at the hotel, but after 4 days I got bored of the menus. More variety would have been nice. The sushi was great. Given the location, i didn’t leave the property at night (didn’t want to drive 30 min, pay $100 RT for what might have been so-so food). - In general, the hotel felt really quiet. Every night at dinner the restaurants felt 25-30% full max and the bar areas were empty. As a solo traveler it would have been nice to have had more of a bar scene to meet people (but Sherman and the other bartenders were so friendly!). Overall, great experience! I would go back… but I’d wait until the new hotel next door is open as I think that will help the area with more people and options. Read less
