We traveled as a family of 18, ( including 4 children) hoping for a fun and relaxing getaway — but sadly, this hotel missed the mark in so many ways. First and foremost, nearly all of us ended up getting sick during our stay, which immediately raised concerns about the cleanliness and food safety standards. To make matters worse, we had to beg for basic necessities like water. I’ve stayed in many beautiful places in Mexico (Xcaret, the grand at moon, atelier… to name of few) and never have I had to ask for bottled water. We were given “filtered” water from jugs, which felt strange and inadequate, especially considering the size of our group and the heat. The water in the rooms were in cans, but you could not get those cans anywhere, but the room. The rooms were decent, clean. However the air conditioner in each room had several issues, some wouldn’t stay on others would turn off in the middle of the night. Room service was horrible! on the night that I fell sick my husband ordered room service for our kids, the pasta tasted like pool water and the burger was barely cooked through. Needless to say my son fell sick the next day as he was starved and ate half the burger. The pool area was far from hygienic, the pool floor seemed like it had never been cleaned, there were chunks of hair and debris in the water. They charge $25 for cabanas inside the pool, in an all inclusive ? Absurd! The ants by the chair lawns bite (so beware) but the absolute kicker was my father witnessing a woman go into the pool with a dirty sanitary pad coming out the side of her bathing suit. My children and god children were playing not 4 feet away in the same water. Needless to say we got out of the water immediately. Whether the staff addressed it or not ? We’ll never know I didn’t stick around to see. Service was a hit or miss — some staff were helpful, while others seemed overwhelmed or indifferent. Requests were often delayed or ignored, and getting consistent assistance felt like pulling teeth. There was a wait to go into the buffet, especially at breakfast time, after a certain time. We were not all together at once so the size of our group wasn’t the issue. We were all spilt in families of either 3 or 4. Reservations were nearly impossible, the ones we did have were the last ones of the night where the staff was drained from a long day of work and the service was not up to par. Which is truly understandable. However, the food and drinks were barely decent, if you could even say that. The service was far from standard, mind you we are a group that tip generously, to all staff members. I have never wanted to be home from a Mexico vacation, EVER. This one was truly the exception. For the amount we paid and the size of our group, we expected better hospitality, cleanliness, and basic care. Unfortunately, this experience left a lot to be desired and we won’t be returning. Read less

There was a huge amount of mold in the room. Despite the promise to change the room this did not happen.

Read ENTIRE review… The good: The main pool area was large and had plenty of chairs and umbrellas to accommodate everyone, kids pool area with 6 small waterslides was perfect for kids age 0-14, the beach had plenty of chairs and umbrellas to accommodate everyone. The bad: - The food was cafeteria quality at best. It left much to be desired and we often wondered how old the food was and if we would get sick. - The restaurants require reservations. If you don’t make dinner reservations for your entire stay when you check in, you WILL be stuck eating at the buffets, coffee shop, or pizza shop for meals. - The “snacks” in the room consist of peanuts and potato chips. NO other options! - The room smells terribly of mold and other family members complained of their shower smelling like sewage. When we got home, all of our clothes smelled of mold and had to be washed. - In room fridge is minimally stocked - Kids nightly entertainment was very cheesy and lame. It’s most suitable for children 0-5 years old and reminiscent of Barney & Friends. - Food quality in the restaurants was not worth the stress of reservations. - We found the hours of the various food options to be inconvenient and restrictive. For instance, while enjoying the Fizz pool in the evening and kids are getting hungry, we could not go to the pizza shop that was poolside because they closed at dinner time. The nearest buffet, Poseidon, was also closed during that time. - We found in the evening hours we were essentially forced into the village mall area, as the other food options were closed. - Big negative was that the pools closed at 8pm, and the kids pool closed at 5pm. - The kids club closes at 5pm, so we were not able to drop our kids off at the kids club so my husband and I could have a nice dinner to ourselves. - There are not enough golf carts to provide adequate transportation for all the guests. We ended up walking most of the time because otherwise we would be waiting for a golf cart. - Overall we were disappointed in the quality and service of this resort for the price charged. We are a hotel/motel type and typically stay at Hyatt or Hilton hotels. This resort has potential but the management and owners are not taking it to the full potential. - Weddings - The wedding planners at the resort are not detail-oriented. They did not ensure that the bride’s name was spelled correctly, nor did they make sure the wedding and reception occurred according to schedule. This resulted in needing to add an additional hour to the reception. - Drinks served by the hotel had a weird chemical and plastic taste. No bottled water was served. Canned water was only available in the room. Read less
