We were really disappointed with our stay and felt that this hotel was not worth the money we spent. While it is definitely kid-friendly, that’s unfortunately where the positives end.
The food quality was very low, and the drinks were equally disappointing. We booked the Family Selection swim-up suite, which was supposed to include premium alcohol, but the options (like Don Julio and Patrón) were limited and only available at a few bars—hardly what we expected from a “premium” experience.
Traveling with our 2-month-old and 4-year-old, we wanted to relax by the pool in a shaded area while our older child played. However, we were charged $50 (cash only) just to sit in a shaded pool area, which felt unreasonable. We also requested birthday decorations for our daughter ahead of time via email but never received a response. Once we arrived, our butler offered to arrange it for $100—again, cash only—which didn’t feel right.
Another major issue was that our family members (who came to help us with the kids) were not allowed into our designated area because they didn’t have the same package. This was frustrating, especially since our section was the only one offering kid-friendly activities for our daughter.
The food and drinks consistently left us feeling bloated and uncomfortable. On our checkout day, we received a call at 7:30 AM saying our transportation had arrived—even though our flight wasn’t until 12:41 PM and we had originally scheduled pickup for 8:30 AM. We were told we had 10 minutes or the shuttle would leave, leaving us no choice but to take an Uber. This was stressful, especially traveling with young children in an unfamiliar area like Cancun.
Overall, the service was poor, and many staff members came across as unfriendly or dismissive when we asked questions. For the price, this experience fell far below expectations. We travel frequently to all-inclusive resorts, and this was by far the worst one we’ve experienced.
If you’re considering alternatives, we highly recommend Lopesan Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic—it has been the best resort we’ve visited, with excellent service and genuinely welcoming staff.
