We spent the last two weeks of February here as Inspira(upgrade)guests and here is our take.
ROOM:
Checkin was a breeze, room was nice with a balcony and sliding door(most don’t have a balcony or windows that open so beware ). We asked for a king room and got two doubles and weren’t able to change. Also the table in between the beds is permanent so we couldn’t move them together.
Bathroom is small with little counter space, shower has a rain shower head with very low water pressure and hot water took its time to get to the tower top floors.
Rooms are cleaned every two days and mini fridge is stocked daily with pop, beer and water. Getting water is never a problem on this resort. Bottled water everywhere.
FOOD: one small buffet and two specialty restaurants (Japanese and Mediterranean). Nothing special(just ok).
Beach Service has snack bar type menu(burger, fries, wraps, pizza).
They need more beach servers…slow service the whole two weeks. We got our own drinks most of the time up at the bar.
Coffee Bar: Coffee, Lattes, Cappuccinos etc. Sandwiches, desserts and an Ice Cream machine all included with the INSPIRA upgrade.
LOBBY BAR: this is the only place to socialize and have a drink in the evening. There are no tables outside to sit and have a drink in the evening.
BEACH: beautiful Cancun water as usual but could only swim two days due to red flag waves(lifeguards are very strict). Sargassum came in on our last three days.
POOL: very small, cold and no actives. And yes you have to play the towel game. Get up very early to get a chair especially around the pool.
Ok, so my biggest complaint is the INSPIRA(upgrade)beach section….when you go down the stairs to the beach and face the water the INSPIRA section is to your left and the NonINSPIRA section is to the right. There is a tiny very high INSPIRA sign at the bottom of the stairs that no one sees and of course everyone thinks open chairs are for the taking. The poor servers are left asking guests to leave the section and go over to the other section. I’m sure it’s uncomfortable for them, also to the guests and most times there isn’t enough chairs in the other section. To the hotel: maybe at check-in explain the beach section so guests are prepared and not doing the walk of shame when told to leave the Inspira area. We even saw harassment of the servers just doing what shouldn’t be their job. The INSPIRA sign needs to be bigger and more clear.
STAFF: I can’t say it enough…All staff that we encountered were amazing, friendly, accommodating, respectful, personable and couldn’t do enough for you.
All in all our stay was ok…will we be back? No, only because we like a bigger more lively resort with more things to do.
