I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like people should know what to expect. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst resort experiences I’ve had, and it happened during my birthday trip.
Just two hours after checking in, our toilet flooded. Then, only a day and a half later, we were told we had to switch rooms again because the TV connection didn’t work. The room change happened on such short notice that I accidentally left my diamond earrings behind. The next morning, I asked if I could go back to the room since it hadn’t been occupied yet, but I was told no. Security searched the room and claimed nothing was found. Later that day, I spoke with Julia, the manager, who opened an investigation and assured me she would follow up with me the next day. She never did, and I never received any update about my missing earrings.
The customer service at the front desk was disappointing. Most of the staff I dealt with were rude and not helpful, especially when I was already dealing with multiple issues.
The rest of the resort didn’t make up for it. There was no air conditioning in the restaurants, which made dining uncomfortable. I found a hair in one of my burgers. The gift shop prices were extremely high. The gym was outdated, with rusty equipment and a treadmill that had tears in the belt, which didn’t feel safe to use. The mirrors in our room were scratched, the elevators smelled like old mop water, and the pool bar was another disappointment. Frozen drinks were blended with large chunks of ice left in them, so they became watery almost immediately.
Overall, this resort did not live up to my expectations. Between the room issues, poor customer service, the unresolved situation with my missing earrings, and the lack of follow-up from management, this was not the birthday vacation I had hoped for. I would not stay here again, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.
