Oleo Cancun Playa

Cancun, Mexico

Star rating

The hotel

The sculptural ice-white architecture and matching monochrome interiors of Óleo Cancún Playa give it a calmness that’s a far cry from the buzz and colour of your setting — right at the start of the famously vibrant Cancún Hotel Zone. The dedication to ‘white’ is only really interrupted by flashes of blue — homage to the sea and surf just steps from the hotel. Overlooking the beach, the infinity pool adds a touch more turquoise, with the pool bar’s tropical-inspired cocktails adding their own shots of colour. You’ve got spa treatments, complimentary WiFi, an art workshop, and restaurant menus that take you from Japan to Mexico and Peru, with stops on the way for comfort food, international favourites, and bakery treats.

All meals were included but we preferred the breakfast buffet where they had many Mexican and International choices. We were attended by Iliana who was the best! The ocean was wonderful and it was what we were looking for. We did not try the gym or the tennis courts. The spa was not free but they gave different discounts. We were treated by Josefina and were very satisfied. We had a good satisfactory experience which was what we needed. Read less

From the moment I walked through the doors of Oleo Cancun Playa, Kevin at the front desk/concierge made me feel truly welcome. His kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality stood out immediately. When I mentioned it was my birthday, he didn’t just acknowledge it once—he remembered. Throughout my stay, whenever I saw him around the resort, he went out of his way to wish me a happy birthday again. It may seem like a small gesture, but it was incredibly meaningful to me. You never know what someone might be going through, even while on vacation, and Kevin’s thoughtfulness and positive energy truly revived my spirit. He made my special day even brighter, and I’ll always remember his kindness. Thank you, Kevin, for going above and beyond—you are a shining example of exceptional service. Read less

Beautiful , small and close to the airport . But our biggest surprise was at Hakka . Delicious food by chef Ofelia Olan , chef Santiago and our waiter Enrique . We had different courses and every single one of them had just enough of what was needed . Lovely food and lovely team . Can’t ask for more!
