Location: great, 20 minute transfer from the airport which after a long flight is ideal
Atmosphere: The hotel was only about 40% occupancy, however this didn't take away from how amazing it was. It was a quieter hotel than most in Mexico, However there were activities throughout the hotel that you could take part in (or watch) if you wanted. The main pool can get noisy at times especially by the swim up bar.
Rooms: We were upgraded when we checked in to a partial sea view. Loved the room but we could not see the sea for the trees. This was not an issue for us, it is a beautiful room. Bright and very clean. There was a damp smell when we first got there but this was sorted very quickly. We were looking forward to the jacuzzi bath (on the balcony) However, this was a bit of a disaster, very noisy and the jets sprayed the water over the balcony (very funny and we seen this happening through the hotel). We didn't bother to get it seen as the shower was lovely.
Value: It did cost a lot with coming from the UK. I would have liked to upgrade to the Serenity but it would added approximately £2000 in top of what we paid. My husband didn't think that for that price there was not enough extras. I'm still in 2 minds and I would have liked to try .
Cleanliness: Amazing, throughout the hotel and all communal areas there was never any problem, Cleaning staff throughout were amazing.
Noise Level: no issues, some noise at the pool and a few larger groups were a bit noisy at times but were all on holiday. If it did get too much at the pools you could go to the quiet one (or serenity one if you upgrade).
Service: We was the best we have ever had and we have been to Mexico, Dominican and others previously. The staff really do go above an beyond for everyone.
Amenities: Stunning hotel and grounds. The beach would have been nice but due to the sargassum we didn't go on it, Mother nature so it cant be helped. We are not beach lovers so didn't mind and I was told they dont put a barrier up for it due to the turtles.
Food: All the al a cart were amazing, good selection of choices. We would have liked 1 more restaurant as it was repetitive and the buffet was not open in the evening due to occupancy. Serenity had 2 other restaurants.
Coffee Shop: Again this was the best we have had at a hotel. beautiful savoury and sweet products. Excellent selection of coffee, tea and ice-cream
Overall, this is an amazing hotel and the staff make it better. If I had the money again I would return in a heartbeat and go for 3 weeks instead of 2.
