Rooms and suites are arranged across the family-friendly Riviera section, Hacienda section, adults-only Select Club (with access to exclusive adults-only areas) and Platinum Tower. Amenities vary by accommodation type but include a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, minibar, coffee maker, purified water dispenser, TV, safe, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and bathrobes.

Riviera Family King Junior Suite rooms are 52 sqm, with a a balcony or terrace with garden, pool or jungle views, plus an in-room hydromassage tub. With 1 king-size bed plus a bunk bed, these rooms sleep maximum five people (up to 3 adults and 2 children, or 2 adults and 3 children).

All Inclusive

Enjoy all meals, snacks and drinks as part of your stay, with buffet and à la carte dining across the resort, plus 24-hour room service. Unlimited domestic and selected international drinks, soft drinks, wine and cocktails are available from 8am to 1am.
The 'All Playa Experience' also includes daily activities around the pool and beach, non-motorised water sports, snorkelling equipment, kayaking, sailing, tennis, pickleball, paddleboarding, mini golf and access to the fully equipped gym.
Younger guests can enjoy the supervised kids’ club and teens’ club, while the whole family can look forward to nightly shows, live performances and themed entertainment.

“Beware of "Dynamic"/ Fluctuating Rates & Royal Elite Booking Limitations”

This is hard to write because we love the staff at Sandos Playacar, but if you are considering buying into Royal Elite, you should be aware of some potential put-offs. 1) I submitted a reservation request on Feb 1, 2026 for a stay at Sandos Playacar June 23-30, 2026, and the children's discounted per day rate was the normal 50% off the adult rate. We had to change our room type, so 8 days later I had to submit another reservation request for the same travel dates. The children's discount rate was changed from 50% to 40% discount. When I asked about it, here is their response cut and pasted from the email Royal Elite Customer Service sent me: " As you are aware, our rates are dynamic, as are the discounts applied to them. Each time you submit a new request, the rates are updated accordingly. In this case, for the dates you are requesting, only a 40% discount is currently applied for children aged 3–12. Previously, the discount was 50%, but it has since been updated to 40%. As you can guess, our trust with Sandos Royal Elite has been damaged. 2) Our contract includes a studio room for 2 weeks per year, and we want to take our teenage children next June. Therefore using both weeks at once and reserving 2 adjoining rooms makes sense (requesting the adjoining rooms in the Hacienda area). However, even requesting the reservation over 9 months in advance, Sandos cannot guarantee our rooms will be next to, or even close to each other. Hmmmmm.

Spent my Birthday week at Sandos Playacar. Excellent time had by all 11 of who went. Premium Club was worth the extra $$as it allowed us access to air conditioned bars prior to dinner reservations and a chance to cool down. The beach side service provided by Carlos was top notch. He always had a smile on his face while serving us drinks! Entertainment was great also. The best restaurant to us was the Mexican one where i had my BDay dinner. The only downfall was the broken pool and the occasional Sargassum deposit. Other than that we had a great time with wonderful memories and great service. PS Ask for the story about Maria from guest services. I would go back.
