Where is it

In the heart of the Riviera Maya, overlooking the award-winning white sands of Akumal Beach. Akumal, “place of turtles” in Mayan, is home to one of the largest green sea turtle populations in Mexico. Close to the area’s most unique sites including an authentic Mayan village, the world’s largest underground river and just 20 minutes from the famous Playa del Carmen. Close to Tulum Ecological Site. The world’s second largest barrier reef sits just 150 metres off the resort’s beach. Transfer time from Cancun Airport: 60 minutes.

We had a great stay with beautiful weather in a wonderful setting. We snorkelled from the beach and although did not see any turtles we did see lots of fish and a few stingrays. What an amazing property! This was our 5th time visiting this resort and this time we took our adult daughters, who absolutely loved it! There are many beautiful places in the world to visit, but this place is extra special because of the staff! I would like to recognize our Building Concierge Karen, as she provided excellent customer service during our stay and made sure we wanted for nothing! Max and Carla with the Entertainment Team were both very personable and engaging. Max has so much positive energy and is so very kind and friendly! We sure enjoyed getting to know him! Carla is so fun and enthusiastic! Eliazar, Antonio, and Diego at the Market Cafe provided exceptional service at breakfast and made our mornings extra special! Hector and Abraham, among other pool staff, were great and so willing to serve all day as we relaxed! David, our pool concierge, was a standout with his attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond our expectations. We even think of him as a friend! On his day off, Reuben and Antonio stepped in and served us very well! Also, Eunice and Gabriella, from the spa, were very helpful with making massage appointments! Last, but not least, all of the restaurant servers provided excellent customer service and the food was amazing! We plan to return again next year to see our friends at Secrets!
