We just returned home from a fantastic 12 day stay at at Secrets Akumal. One word to describe this resort and the employees would be “Excellente”. They go above and beyond to respect their guests and their needs everyday. They are polite, friendly, and professional. We were greeted in the lobby with cold towels and a cold drink. Check in at the Preferred Club was fast and friendly with Fernanda and Angel. They took great care of us. Our room was very nice with a great ocean view. Housekeeping did a great job every day and Claudia was so friendly. Our building concierge, Francisco, always kept us informed every day with the activities during the day and night. He took care of all our needs and such a great friendly person. The pool concierges, Osauna, Augustin, Ruben, and Jose work hard every day in the sun to make sure all the guests are comfortable by moving umbrellas, picking up used towels, setting up lounges by the pool. Pool servers Noe and Anna also work hard in the heat bringing drinks to the guests. They always remember what your drink is. The entertainment team led by Oliver does a fantastic job each and every day keeping the guests active in all of their activities. They are always very friendly, polite, smiling, and laughing. They make all the activities so much fun to do. All of the restaurants have a very fine food selection and our meals were outstanding. The managers and sometimes the head chef would stop by tables to make sure your meal was up to your expectation. They really want everyone to be happy with the meals. At the Himitsu restaurant, David, the head chef made us an incredible sushi platter to celebrate our 49th anniversary. What a great chef! At Portofino, Jazmin, Antonio, and Manuel did an amazing job. We went to the Market Cafe every morning and we were always greeted by Santiago, the supervisor, Elizo, the manager, and Diago, the server. They would always take time to talk to the guests and they are so polite, friendly, and just outstanding. Great employees! At CoCo Cafe, Sandra works hard all the time but she always finds the time to smile, be polite, and help the guests in many ways. We always stop by for coffee and ice cream. We love to have lunch each day at Seaside Grill. We get the whole fried fish which the chef makes is outstanding. A lot of the guests eating there are amazed by us ordering that. Jimmy, the manager, is always busy making sure the meals are delivered fast to the tables but he makes time to greet the guests. He is such a great guy! He is friendly, polite, and professional. Alexa, the hostess, is so kind, polite, friendly, and a bit shy. She is our favorite hostess! What makes Secrets Akumal a 5 Diamond resort is the amazing executive team of professionals under the leadership of the general manager, Mr. Rafael Cordova. They always show respect to all the guests along with being friendly, polite, and professional. A special recognition to Cesar Montoya, rooms division director, Denise, executive guest division director, and Montseerat Catzin, assistant to the general manager. They always go above and beyond to make sure your stay at Secrets Akumal is the best vacation you ever have. Thank you Mr. Cordova for making Secrets Akumal what it is today! “Excellente”.
