“Loved it!”

We recently stayed at The Bequia Beach Hotel for a week on an all-inclusive basis just prior to its annual late summer shut down. And we loved it! We loved the welcome we received when we checked in. We loved the setting on the slightly harsher Atlantic side of Bequia. We loved the quiet beach with its soft sand and easy access into and more importantly for us, out of the ocean. We loved our ground floor beach front room that we had requested prior to arrival. It was comfortable, spacious and beautifully appointed and with easy access to the beach from the veranda. We loved the food. The menu in the Bagatelle restaurant did not change but it gave us a chance over the course of a week to sample most of the dishes. And on the whole they did not disappoint. We particularly enjoyed the Chicken Kung Pao, the Pan Seared Salmon and the Tenderloin Steak. And it was lovely having the meat and fish cooked as lightly as requested. We loved the two lunches we had at the Sand Bar - a ten minute walk along the beach and included in the dining package. We loved our day on the Caribbean side of the island at Jack’s Beach Bar where they looked after us really well. The JFC (Jack’s Fried Chicken) was excellent and the cocktails even better! This also was included under the all-inclusive plan. The complementary taxi there and back just made it all the better. But most of all… We loved the people. Without exception everyone was friendly, professional and helpful. And in particular we have to give a huge shout out to Rima who I think is Guest Services Manager. Anyway she seemed to be completely in charge. It was because of her that we were reunited with our luggage after InterCaribbean Airways had managed to separate us from it and send it on a four and a half day journey around the Caribbean. With absolutely no assistance from the airline and a bit of help from our trackers, she left no stone unturned in making sure it eventually made its way to Bequia and on to the hotel. Well done and thank you Rima. So would we go back to The Bequia Beach Hotel? Of course we would! And we will in the next year or two hopefully. The only difference being that next time we will use an alternative carrier to travel there!

Total relaxation with 1st class accommodation and service. Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a plunge pool, beautifully well appointed with excellent air con. Lovely luscious grounds with a feeling of space and exclusivity. From the moment we were met at the tiny airport and transported in the open air pick up truck taxi we were looked after. Low season so not many guests, we had both swimming pools to ourselves most days. The food and drinks were very good. The staff are simply very good indeed. Shuttle service to Jacks Bar, taxis freely available to order to go into Port Elizabeth. Library to browse, spa and gym, perfect location on the beach. Boat trip to Mustique recommended.

It's on our short list to return soon. The room was outstanding, food was good, staff was excellent, and the location is perfect. Friendship Bay is quiet and beautiful, yet close enough to Port Elizabeth for easy access to activities.
