The hotel

The gorgeous gardens and pools at Krabi La Playa Resort provide a great getaway, offering up endless hours of relaxation. One of the resort’s swimming pool is pretty traditional, a series of interconnecting pools accompanied by sunbeds, poolside dining, and swim-up bar with the other ‘Emerald Pool’ is something a bit different. Both stretch right up to some of the hotel’s renovated rooms and suites, allowing guests to step right into the water from their terrace. The two acre gardens are just as inviting, with their own bar and seating spots. And, if that’s not quite enough space to relax, you could always head to the sands of Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara beaches, 150 meters away, with shopping, dining and nightlife nearby.

La Playa is a great place to stay, the staff are so friendly and the breakfasts are delicious. While the accommodation is basic it offers comfort and there is good air con to escape the heat. Krabi La Playa Resort Ao Nang A wholly disappointing end to a 3 week trip. Totally ruined our holiday. Devastated. Avoid this place. Our stay at Krabi La Playa Hotel, booked via Premier Holidays, was extremely disappointing and completely misrepresented. It was supposed to be a 4-star beach resort — there was no beach, no water sports, and many promised amenities (whirlpool, minibar, DVD player, public bar) simply did not exist. The floors were filthy (our feet turned black when we unpacked), bedding wasn’t changed once in 8 nights, and the bathroom was never properly cleaned. The staff were rude and unhelpful, with the manager bizarrely telling us “you’re in the jungle” — when we were clearly in a town! Even worse, all four of us became violently ill (sickness & diarrhoea for 36+ hours) — the only time during our entire 3-week trip, including a jungle stay where we had no illness and no bites. At Krabi La Playa, we were bitten badly and found live insects in our beds This hotel ruined the final leg of our once-in-a-lifetime trip. A truly awful and stressful experience. Read less

Have upped the ante with the poolside music which was one of my only complaints last year! Would like to still see more than just cocktails on the happy hours at the swim up pool bar - some beer offers would be fantastic as don’t drink spirits! Staff super friendly and remembered us 😊 We only did breakfasts here but good selection. Perfect location for all things in Ao Nang 👏🏻 Read less

Lovely hotel and friendly staff in a great location. I especially enjoyed the swimming pools. Breakfast buffet was good, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because some of the food in the restaurant wasn't very nice when we had dinner there.

⭐ 1 Star Very Poor Experience – Not Recommended for Indian or Vegetarian Guests I am currently staying at Hotel La Playa Resort, Krabi, in rooms 8102, 8103, and 8104 with a group of seven guests, and the experience so far has been extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, no bellboys were provided to help us with our luggage. The hotel staff is very rude and uncooperative, and there’s a clear lack of basic hospitality. We requested simple vegetarian food like French fries or potato wedges, and even that was refused, despite us clearly mentioning we are pure vegetarians. Furthermore, the hotel insists on charging for basic items like ice, drinking water bottles, or any small requests that are usually standard in decent hotels. There’s no sense of courtesy or effort to make guests feel welcome. Everything here feels like a transaction. This hotel is clearly not Indian-friendly and not suitable for vegetarian guests either. The facilities are lacking, and the overall attitude of the staff is cold and dismissive. We will also be reporting this to our tour company to ensure that no future Indian groups face this same treatment. Avoid this hotel if you expect basic respect, service, and hospitality. Read less
