Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa - Handwritten Collection

The hotel

Living up to its ‘authentically Bali’ mantra, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa - Handwritten Collection feels like a reincarnated Balinese palace. Every element’s lavish, with its three exquisite tree-fringed pools, sumptuous spa, gym, and seven bars and restaurants all adding to the fantastical feel. But nothing’s quite as regal as its grounds, where tropical greenery spills over balconies, tumbles through gardens, and comes to rest on the pure white sands of its beach. The effect’s a serene setting for garden tours, coconut leaf weaving, and traditional dance classes – and for Gecko Club’s child-focused island experiences. Inside its nine hectares, a dramatic temple-like structure splits to reveal an elaborate lily pond festooned with water features; Balinese guest rooms (including Butler-served Club rooms) divulge garden, pool, or beach scenes; and the incredible bamboo web of its double-decked brasserie opens up to hypnotic Indian Ocean views.

We arrived at The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa, tired after 2 days travel from UK for 2 weeks bed and breakfast, at check we were asked to go to VIP check in as we had opted to stay for 2 weeks, this was an air conditioned room with plush sofas, drinks and snacks whilst we checked in, very good start, room was large with king size bed, large shower, toilet and sink huge balcony with relaxing chairs, grounds are immaculate and vast and all around are Balinesse statues and Balinese Gateways and other traditiinal structures, stretching right down to the beach, the pools are lovely, one designed like a beach with sand going into pool area, the other deeper and with pool bar, we used the chess bar daily, lovely pool side service via Bluetooth bells and all added to your tab or paid as you went, the Tamarind restaurant is amazing, we ate there one evening for three course meal on 2nd floor over looking the sea, astounding scenery and an amazing meal, breakfast is buffet style and food from all over the world is at your choice, all fresh and delicious, the are two further restaurants on site which are also very good, all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, never stop smiling and greet you with cheerful chat and happiness all day. Rooms are cleaned daily, with a 2nd service late on for any extras like water or towels. We had only on minor fault, which is the amount of sunbeds around the pools, for the amount of guests there could be days when you may not get a pools side sunbed, that said the beach sunbeds are only a short walk from the pools and are managed by the bar staff also for drinks and food, so not a problem to use these sunbeds too. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and would love to visit again someday. Read less

Food was great but I’d recommend trying the local Warungs as they truly make Bali the magical paradise that it is. Breakfast buffet was always awesome and the banana pastries were some of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Cannot wait to go back and I highly recommend a palace club suite. Read less

My stay at Nusa Dua Beach & Spa was truly exceptional. The best part of my stay was the overall serene atmosphere, combined with direct beach access and the impeccable facilities. The quality of the room and service was largely outstanding. My room was spacious, clean, and generally comfortable. The staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and always willing to assist, often anticipating needs. Services, from check-in to room service, operated seamlessly. For improvement, I would suggest that in-room facilities be slightly modernized and updated. While functional, a refresh of certain amenities would elevate the rooms to current luxury and technology standards. Read less
