An overall very pleasant stay at a 5-star hotel, with only a few, yet relevant, shortcomings. Particularly positive were the exceptionally friendly, competent and service-oriented front desk staff, who also matched the lower online rate without any issues and showed me two different room categories before I made my booking. Breakfast was excellent and left nothing to be desired in terms of quality and variety; the dedicated chefs and service staff ensured a perfect start to the day every morning.
Less convincing was the F&B offering in the rooftop restaurants and bars: prices were significantly inflated and, in my view, the quality did not meet the standards of a 5-star property; moreover, the chefs and bartenders clearly lacked in-depth expertise and creativity. It was also irritating that, in my junior suite, the spherical bath salt I used daily was charged separately without any prior notice, and that soft drinks as well as beer in the minibar were not included in the room rate, which I would expect in a hotel of this category.
All in all, however, it is still a recommendable hotel with excellent service and a great breakfast, although I would strongly encourage the management to reconsider the gastronomic concept in particular, as well as the transparency regarding additional charges, in order to fully live up to its own 5-star ambitions.
