Goodbye Kempinsk seam…..Apparently never again.
I've been coming to the Kempinski practically since it opened. And that's been over 10 years. I checked my email. I always bring friends. This time, we booked a two-story cabana suite with direct pool access. And two more rooms with executive lounge access. We were met at the airport by a comfortable hotel minibus. And it's only a matter of time before I'm back at my beloved Kempinski, where I stayed about a year ago. And now... Where am I? When we return to the hotel, we expect improvements, but here it's a disaster. From the moment we walk in, it's clear everything has gotten worse. No cold towels at the entrance, no drinks. No one even remembered that it was always like this. Then came the extremely lengthy check-in process. Considering I stay here every year, the hotel didn't even consider preparing all the paperwork in advance. Moreover, as I thought, and at least in the second Kempinski Sindorn, residents of suites and executive rooms could check in directly in their rooms. To avoid fuss and a long wait after a long journey. Do you want to stay in a room closer to each other? We asked at reception. Well, basically, we answered. Well, then you'll have to pay extra because the rooms are a little bigger! And the room rate is already approaching $500 per night. Have you forgotten what a free upgrade is? The symbol and motto of today's Kempinski is "pay, pay, pay!" I checked my stay history. Every time I came to this hotel, I received some kind of upgrade. Considering that I book directly. And that I checked in as soon as it was built. Then we went to the suite. A suite with direct access to the pool. The number of children in this pool exceeded the number of people in the kindergarten. The children and their parents were making such a noise that it was impossible not to hear with the door closed. So, you open the doors to the balcony of your favorite suite, and you can't even go into the pool because there are 1,000 rubber toys and the screams of children deafening your ears. The next step is a visit to the executive lounge. Something that never happened before. Smart Casual attire? When do you show up for a cocktail in a nice dress or dressed appropriately? No! Now they wear beach flip-flops and board shorts. Dozens of screaming and crying children fill the tiny lounge. Parents don't even feel like going outside with them to calm down. The noise and din of this place now resembles a cheap business lounge at a bad airport. The same goes for the counter where they make you a Subway-quality sandwich out of white bread, but even worse. Next up, drinks. Do you have rum? Yes, Bacardi white. Wait, where's the Chivas-quality rum? We'll keep looking. They really did find that rum. But it's been a while. Overall, it feels like the hotel's director is someone who doesn't care about the little details of service... Just wait, a new Kempinski has opened, right across the street from a five-star Thai chain hotel where everything is much better, but half the price! Why stay here in this hubbub and where no one pays any attention? So it's time to stop overpaying for an overpriced hotel that was once the best. In the end, my friend was upgraded from that cabana room to a regular suite. No, the hotel didn't even consider how they could have improved our check-in process, which lasted several hours. Try something new and interesting around here! Goodbye, Kempinski, where you get very little attention! Where you're noisy, uncomfortable, and overall extremely disappointing...
