This was our second stay at StandardX, and the hotel fully lived up to our expectations from our first time there in February 2025.
Highlights include:
- Great minimalistic aesthetics, with art in focus everywhere; I particularly love the spacious lobby with its giant entry door that really feels like a portal into a relaxed, serene area when you are seeking shelter from the Bangkok chaos outside
- Excellent rooms for the price; we chose a room with a nice river view this time; one thing of note here: if you are a light sleeper, you might want to choose one of the rooms not facing the river, as the whistles from the river boats might disturb you early in the morning – we were at the fourth floor, and they were audible, but never bothered us at all
- Amazing staff who will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible; communication is excellent both before and during the stay
- Prime location in Phra Arthit: only a 10-15 minute walk from Khao San Road and very close to the lovely and more relaxed area close to Khao San; also right on the Chao Praya river so you can easily catch the river boats to various locations, e.g. Chinatown, ICONSiam etc. (highly recommended instead of doing taxis or tuktuks if you are visiting other locations close to the river)
- Perfect rooftop bar and pool area – the best place to relax in Bangkok in the morning before venturing out or late afternoon/evening when you just want to chill with a drink and a cool dip.
- Great for families, as the area between the hotel and Khao San Road is very kid-friendly.
