Chaba Cabana Beach Resort | Koh Samui, Thailand | Virgin Atlantic Holidays

Koh Samui, Thailand

4 stars

In arguably the prettiest spot on Koh Samui, the Chaba Cabana Beach Resort is a bright and cheerful island escape on the soft white sands of Chaweng Beach – studded by palm trees. From rooms to reception, it’s been designed with a tropical tribal flavour. Cashing in on its beachfront spot, its pool stretches out towards the sands and its restaurant windows open up to reveal infinite views of the sea. But, if you can tear yourself from the vista, it also puts you just a walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of lively Chaweng itself, making it ideal for relaxation and recreation.

“Perfect Sea at this hotel”

Aug 19, 2026Spikem69

Hotel is a small boutique one with fantastic rooms and brilliant staff. It’s just outside Chaweng so you will need to get taxis to either Chaweng beach road or fisherman’s village. We downloaded the Grab app it’s really worth it as taxis come on demand and you know the price before you travel. Traffic is heavy so would cost more in a metered taxi. Taxis are cheap. There are a couple of restaurants just outside the hotel if you don’t want to venture far but variety wise you need to go into Chaweng which is a totally crazy place !! Food at the hotel is good but we did find the breakfast reoetitive especially if you don’t want Thai for breakfast. In room you get 2 bottles of water free a day plus there’s a mini bar which you can pay for. Nearest 7-12 is quite a walk away so buy stuff you need whilst out and about. Rooms are clean and roomy with a massive bed and a balcony. Some of the bottom floor rooms look out on a footpath so there’s no privacy if you get these rooms with the amount of people walking past. The sea is the biggest pulling point at the hotel. It is totally clear and lovely shades of blue probably best you will ever see. However there is no beach cos the sea comes right up to the hotel wall. If you want a beach just walk in the sea and turn right there’s a few businesses along there which will allow you to sit on their beds if you have a drink etc. well worth it if you are a beach person. We would definitely come back to this hotel and had a great comfortable stay.

“Breakfast let it down”

Aug 04, 2026holidaybugLondon

We had 4 nights here at the start of our Thailand trip. Plus points ….10 minutes from airport Room ( deluxe double) was decent. Staff team are nice. Reception team were helpful. Restaurant is by the beach with lovely views. Good coffee The beach stretch is lovely…nice sandbank and crystal waters.Shallow. Negative points Breakfast is underwhelming. Very little variety. One choice for Thai breakfast. Two choices of fruit most mornings.Queues for egg station that could be 20 minutes when a trainee was there. Two staff squashed together with a 2 ring burner…so slow! The pool is fairly small and the surrounding deck area is not great….needed refurbishment.
