We had booked what we had thought was a luxury hotel in a tropical paradise. The description and photos of the hotel bare no resemblance to what we encountered, to describe as being heart broken would be a massive understatement.. Idyllic and relaxing could not be used in the same sentence as this hotel. Chaweng breach does have a magnificent white sand beach (along with all of the commercial activities taking place), but that is not the area in front of the hotel. The hotel water frontage is either rock or sun backed mud/sludge with it's unique, foul smell. The pools were small with little space to sit, and certainly no room to sit on the beach. There is some nice walkways with planting, but all feels cramped with little feeling of space. I am not sure how you can describe something that sits at one end of the Island runway as being relaxing, the planes are almost brushing the tops of the palm trees and with their wheels down, you can't talk while they fly right above your head . Then we come to the outside area of the hotel, this could only be described as the worst of the down market European party towns. Whilst this is just what some are aiming for, it is certainly does not have something for everyone, and certainly not a family. Grim and run down, full of cannabis and marijuana shops. Hassled all the way down the strip from shops and restaurants, vans with loud speakers advertising various activities, mostly Thai boxing. So disappointed to have chosen such a poor resort for what was meant to be such a special holiday. The only good part was finding somewhere special in Bophut. We checked in and out within a matter of hours. We were aware of the sister hotel, but not sure anyone would book that having looked at the reviews, so we had already rejected that one before making our Chaweng Regent booking mistake. Read less

Lovely hotel, one entrance on the beach, other on the town centre road so you get the best of both worlds. We enjoyed the swim up pool bar, great breakfast and relaxing spa treatments.

Oil provided excellent yoga instruction for all age groups. She demonstrated all the positions and was very encouraging to all participants. I felt very comfortable in her class. Megan

Very busy and noisy hotel with quite loud guests and playing children. Every half hour you will be treated with an airplane taking off or landing just 100 meters above your head. If you are a person that wants to sleep late and then go to the pool, you will find all sun beds occupied or ‘reserved’ with towels. Housekeeping is late. Your room will be tidied around 3pm which is too late actually. The hotel has been rated with 5 stars but 4 stars seems more appropriate. Staff is very friendly but also permissive. Maybe too permissive to some guests. Read less
