We chose this hotel for a week of our honeymoon on the beautiful island of Koh Samui after reading the reviews and seeing the location. Check in was swift and the staff super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Club Lamai suite, a large room, but felt rather unfurnished, there was a lot of empty space and felt a little soul-less. Being over the road from the hotel, there are no sea views, but views of the central garden area instead. Our room had a lovely towel display and a note wishing us a nice stay and honeymoon, which was a nice touch, but we were underwhelmed by the lack of acknowledgement that we had chosen this hotel over all the other luxury ones on the island.
The breakfast has a fairly good variety but it did seem quite basic, but it is elevated by the egg station and the eggs/omelettes he produced for us. It is a family friendly hotel and we knew this, but it would be nice if the hotel offered family seating and couple seating in slightly different areas - for both parents and couples to enjoy their breakfast.
We opted for the Lunch or Dinner option at the restaurant as part of the room, and the food in the restaurant is good, with a great varied menu. Our day of arrival coincided with the Saturday buffet which they let us partake in. The drinks are good from the bar too. In 2026, it was surprising that the hotel relies on guests carrying a paper card to get hand written on to validate our meal, when it all goes electronic in the end anyway. Lose your card, lose your right to your paid for inclusive meals!
Our room allowed us access to the Voyager club room, claiming we had access to free soft drinks all day, however these seemed heavily guarded and not as free flowing as it suggested. We also made happy hour on a number of occasions, which is a great offering, as it includes wine, beer and some cocktails plus some small food options. However, on a couple of occasions the room was full and we couldn't get a seat, so we ended up having to take a glass of wine back to our room. I don't know how the hotel operates this lounge in high season if this is what it's like in low season!
The massages at the hotel are okay, probably better in the area, but convenient, however they are right next to the pool, so I can imagine this being noisy and not so relaxing in high season!
The gym in the hotel is okay but basic, but a 5 minutes walk down the road is another air conditioned gym you can pay per visit on their app which I went to a couple times.
The hotel is located outside of Lamai on the busy road into the area, however the security guards make crossing the road between the hotel and the beach/restaurant safe. It is also walkable (about 15 minutes) to Lamai night market, which we did a couple of times for food. The hotel is also sandwiched in between two 711s.
We opted for the elephant tour offered by the hotel, and this was brilliant, highly recommended, as they took us to a truly ethical sanctuary.
Overall, not a bad stay, but we were left feeling slightly disappointed and underwhelmed as this was our honeymoon.
